Said one of my sweaters was a kids when it’s obviously for a woman said the rhinestones were “falling apart” but when I overheard Rae look at it she laughed at it and said it was “extra” as I have never worn that shirt before and said crop tops are no longer really selling even though they had a bunch of them there that were a third cropped than mine the best part was dealing with the manager she was super sweet and kind to fix Rae’s mistake as Rae did see I wanted to buy and exchange which is supposed to be tax free so the manager fixed that for me as well I didn’t like Rae’s attitude nor her self being the only extra employee there I would rather take her place working there than to ever have to hear her complain the entire time about costumers coming in she was very unprofessional I can understand not liking a customer and going home to talk about it but not in the open where all the customers can hear I also attached the shirt with the “missing rhinestones” that I have never worn befoee

Just checked this Plato’s out last week and I loved it! Not only did I get rid of a ton of clothing, but I found a great pair of Toms for $10! While I was shopping and waiting for my clothing to get finished, I noted that the staff were very professional. They were extremely busy but went through my bags of clothing and attended their other customers in a timely manner. I also noticed they were great at communicating with their customers whether over the phone or in person about their policies and clothing. Great experience and I will definitely be returning. This is now my favorite Plato’s Closet location :)

I used to love shopping here for my name brand jeans but never again after the service I received. I had heard good things about buying and selling name brand clothing here and had 4 pairs of American eagle jeans and 1 pair of blue Jean and camo shorts in good shape and thought I’d go ahead and see what the selling process for this store was about not caring if they sold anyway. When I walked in I was greeted and I asked if they take American eagle jeans and how the process goes I was rudely told not skinny jeans. Unsure if mine counted as skinny jeans as I bought jeans like these there before and they are all over the racks, I carried in my folded items to get an opinion to see if they counted so I would know what they were looking for and if those were not it then I could go on my way and not waste anyones time. I was told they would take a look at them as they take a lot and may potentially want to buy. I then got asked if I had brought a bag for my items and I informed them I didn’t as I didn’t know I needed too since no one informed me of this when I came in and asked to begin with. One of the girls offered to put my folded items in the bag but stated I needed to give it back which was fine with me. She then told me I had to wait at least 1-2 hours for my 5 items as they had people before me who had brought bins of clothes in but I understood they where busy and said that was fine. I got a text 2 hours later about my items saying they have completed my buy and to come pick up. I walked in and a young girl asked if I could be helped and I told her what I was there for but the girl just then stood there talking to a coworker about how she was going to go broke over something laughing and ignored me. I stood there a few minutes longer and in a disgusted attitude she then said “I guess I can help you where’s your ID” I gave her my ID and she took a look at it and proceeded to slam it down on the counter back to me. She then asked what bag It was in and I informed her it was one of their bags as I was told I needed to give it back. She proceeded to tell me they where not going to buy any items because they are skinny jeans and one of them had camo and they are not taking camo anything. I understood that and was not upset they were not going to buy anything but 2 hours was a long time to be told no especially with the rude attitudes I witnessed my whole experience and would have saved me 2 hours if I was told no when I brought them in the get an opinion and not string me along. I then got my items out of the bag and they were just thrown in the bag like garbage when I had brought them in folded it took me a minute to actually gather my things and fold them back as I felt like I was in the way due to the girls staring at me with nasty glares. I do not care about not selling anything as it was my first time and I thought I’d see how it goes but the selling process with this store and the rude attitudes was not worth my time. I now see I should have read the reviews before I came in due to it seems like this is not the first things mentioned about the employees attitude issues towards...

So I am a frequent shopper and seller to the local Plato's Closet here in Asheville. Let me start by first saying that I mostly have had wonderful experiences both as a shopper and seller. The staff has been great, helpful and quite pleasant. I appreciate that when I do make a visit they are attentive and always ask about how things are going and show interest in my responses, it makes me feel like a valued customer. I did though today have a, what most would consider, a below par experience as a seller. Now, Plato's states that their prices change every day when selling, as the clothing and shoe market is very much like the stock market. Prices of items follow current trends and trends are constantly changing/evolving. I went in yesterday to sell some new shoes, when I arrived back to get my unsold items and check what the offers were on the items they were interested in, I got what I felt like was a "too low to accept" offer on a few pairs of new shoes I own. No biggie, that happens. I decided to come back the next day and get a second set of eyes/a new fresh offer from another employee, one who might be a bit more experienced in the items I was bringing (new fashion sneakers). As soon as I got the items to the counter with a new set of folks working to look at the shoes, the employee who I dealt with yesterday made an attempt to secretly call over the staff member who was currently helping with assessing my items for sale and said that I had brought the shoes in yesterday and to go by that price as opposed to looking it up fresh and new. Now let's keep in mind, there was a time when Nokia phones for example went completely out of style and were outdated, then almost overnight they became a trending "HOT" item and the value of them went through the roof (just an example of how trends evolve). The issue with my experience this time is that the flow of how this business claims to operate was intercepted by something foreign (yesterdays employee that helped me) and caused the trajectory to change courses unexpectedly. That simply is the issue that I had with my experience, is for whatever reason the need to control a price that is constantly changing. I don't think that it is in their philosophy and feel it's important to express this in hopes for a more fair selling experience for myself and others to come. Again, hands down overall my experience with this business is a strong 4.5 out of 5, unfortunately prior to this experience it was five out of five. Do not let this discourage you from shopping or selling, but please be aware and try not to let anything chart your course for a controlled experience with Plato's Closet. Much appreciation to all of the staff at plato's, thanks for being so helpful and having such great diversity in your items. I will absolutely continue to shop and sell as well as act as a brand ambassador when necessary as I support...

To sum this entire post up do not waste your time going here!! I have visited this location twice now and have been disappointed both times. I called before going and the girl who answered the phone was obviously in a conversation that my phone call had interrupted because she was giggling and laughing the entire call. I asked if there were still buying clothes and she giggled again and stated yes we are and I said perfect thank you and hung up then drove 45 minutes to an hour to get there and as soon as I walk in the girl at the front counter says we actually just stopped buying for the day once I explained to her how I was dissatisfied as I had just called and who I talked to had said it was no problem the girl went and asked her manager if it was okay and she said sure which was great I appreciated that but little did I know I would spend the rest of the day trying to get them to even look at my clothes. The woman told me I would receive a text and on the text would be a link to see what time I would be ready it was at this time 2:00pm so I decided to walk around for a bit as they were having a 90% off clearance. I guess the girls didn’t notice that I had left as I heard them making comments About the situation Which is highly unacceptable from any standpoint .when I left the store on the text I received it stated my time to come in would be 4:15 so I thought no problem I’ll come back at 4:15 .The woman stated that I needed to pick up my clothes before five or they would be donated And I wanted to give them a little extra time, than 415 because I could see that they were a little Busy, so I came in around 445 to pick up my things And as soon as I walk through the door, the woman at the counter yelled yours isn’t ready yet we still have Six more bags so you can imagine my shock after I’ve already waited a little over two and a half hours So I decided to stay in the store and walk around as the woman stated my things would be donated if I wasn’t in there before 5 o’clock So I wanted to make sure they didn’t donate my things I continue to look around the store for probably another 10 minutes and then finally decided to go and stand by the door to wait on my things to be ready Didn’t end up getting ready until 6 o’clock and after all that time of waiting They wanted to give me $39 for 12 items That were all in great condition. Big name brands.highly disappointed and will 100% advise anyone and everyone to not go...
