Let’s start with saying that this will be the first one star review I have ever given. The saying that you cannot judge a book by its cover is very true, from the second I walked into the door I was impressed with the jewelry selection and the sales staff, that’s where it ended. Once you have finalized your jewelry selection if you have trade-ins you’re introduced to the head jeweler Josh. Josh and myself spent quite a lot of time together making our deal. We agreed on a purchase price and trade in value and I was to come pick up my new piece of jewelry in six days when I was able to return. On delivery day Josh took me into a back room to verify my trade-ins were authentic and true. After verifying my trade-ins were authentic and true he came back and told me the deal has changed because after looking at a green piece of paper he pulled out from underneath a stack of papers called a wholesale sheet told him the values changed in just six days. I then said we had an agreement to pick up my new piece will you not honor our agreement he said no. I then asked to speak to ELLIOTT the owner who nicely informed me he cannot honor Joshs agreement with me and he will speak to him at a later time about our situation. I have purchased many watches over the years and have never been more disgusted with my experience or lack of professionalism I received at Spicer Greene. I had been warned to stay away from many customers in the area but felt I should experience it myself and I truly did. I brought my engagement ring in to be resized and, initially, the experience was lovely but ultimately my ring has been damaged and I cannot recommend based on my experience. My ring was resized and wonderfully ready before the quoted time. When I went to pick it up the size was not quite right and they took it back to change it to the correct size. I was so happy with the experience. When I went the second time to pick it up, the size was just right and I was pleased with my entire experience. After bringing it home, I noticed that the prongs holding my center stone were no longer in the same location and was concerned that my stone may not longer be secure. I compared it with the photo they had taken when I first brought my ring in, and it was visibly different. I had no hesitation bringing it back to address this, as all my experiences had been so pleasant. But this is where the experience changed. I was told it was not moved but my setting was wrong. It was brought back to the master jeweler more than once, the manager came and I was told my ring setting was wrong. This ring is not new and the setting was not addressed as an issue at any time before today. They had the master jeweler move the prongs which has now left new blemishes on my ring. I can only say that I felt so insulted, demeaned and my heart aches at how they have treated a very loved and special piece of jewelry. Perhaps someone was having a bad day, perhaps it was because we didn't purchase the ring from them. I cannot say. This was not the experience we had hoped for. I'll start with the positive. Their jewelry is very high quality, albeit at a premium price for the area. We really appreciate how the person who helped us was knowledgeable of the jewelry and helped us to make the best choices for us. However, we were given a ship date for our wedding rings, and that date wasn't met. We had to rearrange our wedding plans because of this. Not a huge wedding so we could reorganize, but we felt like the communication wasn't good here. We then received a message that "Your rings are here!" Turns out only one was. So we had to wait. When my wife went to pick up the brand new wedding rings, they were given to her in plastic zip lock bags. Not what either of us would expect from a premium jeweler. And this morning I stopped by the store at 9:40am because I happened to be in the area (I'm not often downtown). Although they opened at 10am, there were four people in the store. I managed to flag a guy down and I mentioned that I was rarely around and just wanted to pick up two boxes because we were only given plastic bags. It would have been a nice touch if he would have said "oh gosh, you only got plastic bags?!? I'll go get you two boxes, it'll only take me 10 seconds!" Instead he was rude and said, "you'll have to come back after 10" and quickly shut the door in my face. Sorry, I'm not going to waste another 20 minutes waiting more.
