I love independent booksellers stores and I love to support locally owned businesses, but wow! I called to inquire about a book for a friendās birthday and at every turn there was an issue. First they didnāt have the book (she was searching the wrong name), then they realized they did have the book (because someone finally took the time to listen to the name of the author and the book as I spelled them repeatedly), then the book was put on hold to await payment, and when I called back with payment, the book had been misplaced, then it was located, but could not be purchased because it wasnāt in their data base. Then, the transaction was finally completed, I asked it to be wrapped and held for the birthday boy and when he was able to finally make it to the shop in the midst of a busy holiday work schedule, the book had been misplaced. Then out of the blue, though it was stated clearly to be impossible earlier, they stated suddenly that they would be happy to deliver the book in order to āmake me happyā.
Why not just do the simple things well to begin with? Have books in stock listed in stock?!? Have things that are purchased ahead ready for pick up?!?
I think Iāll shop my local book store and pay for all the extra shipping in the future to avoid this kind...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am visiting from NJ and saw this on our walk one evening. I decided to pay them a visit the next day. Alone- no kids or husband so I can really enjoy it. Iām glad I did. Itās such a cute bookstore. I love the way they organize their books and how each room has a space to cozy up and read. When I went upstairs (yes thereās an upstairs) I walked into a Bistro Cafe š„°. I fell in love. I didnāt want to leave. I texted my husband to go back to our hotel since Iāll be taking my time and walking back. 𤣠he did. He knows I love bookstores. I donāt know if I met the owner or not but all three staff members I spoke to were kind, hospitable and warm. From one small business to another, I wish you guys the very best. Remain humble, loving, and kind and you will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI always loved this place to browse and have coffee (old days) or wine (new days). Went there today after a nice bike ride to browse and have a glass of wine at the Pyramid Bistro through which we entered the business. Even though the waiter upstairs said entering without a mask was ok, when I started downstairs to browse while my husband sat upstairs to wait for me before going for wine, I noticed a sign that said masks required. I stayed upstairs sitting with my husband discussing whether we should stay and put on a masks to browse, have a glass of wine or leave. An employee from downstairs came up to obviously āwatchā us. And not doing a good job of hiding it. Highly offensive. We left without purchasing a book or wine and donāt feel good...
