We chose the Anabelle Inn for our two nights in Aspen because in a VERY expensive city, this was one of the more affordable options comparatively speaking. I also thought the inn looked very charming, and it was. We booked a deluxe king and received room 210 on the second floor. We had requested a balcony if possible and were given a room with a balcony, but as a heads up to other travelers, currently the balcony in 210 looks directly onto a construction site with workers working all day long. This is not the inn's fault and I am not deducting anything from their rating because of it - I just wanted to make other guests aware in case you don't want that view, you can request to not stay in that room. I will say the small balcony itself is full of crumbling concrete and could maybe be replaced or just removed.||The inn itself is charming and has several nice amenities such as two hot tubs and a semi-covered balcony that overlooks the main street - access it on the second floor tucked back around the corner of rooms that face the front street. The main street is full of traffic at virtually all hours and is very loud, but we could not hear it at all from our room which faced a side alley. However, if you are concerned about traffic noise, mind the warnings on their website and don't book the standard rooms that open onto the street.||Everyone we encountered who worked at the inn was very friendly and helpful with our questions. They will give you a parking pass that allows you to exceed the time limit parking near the inn as well as other surrounding streets. Be aware there is no dedicated parking lot for the inn- there are a handful of spots on the side of the building and if those are taken (and they are also open to the public), you need to find parking on a nearby street. During our stay, we were always able to snag a spot on the side.||Some very nice touches: because we'd miss breakfast our first morning due to Maroon Bells reservations, they so kindly packed us a cooler with breakfast that they delivered the night before so we had something to eat. We mentioned it was our anniversary and they had champagne waiting for us in the room. We also were given two cookies upon check-in.||A couple suggestions for improvements: On day 2, the front of our AC unit fell off randomly. We weren't able to get it back on and could tell it must happen often as there was old tape in there. Because we couldn't get it to stick ourselves, I told the woman at the front desk after breakfast what had happened. She said it happens often but she was writing herself a note to come up and fix it for us. She never came up and it never got fixed. Since we were leaving the next day, we didn't bring it up again but I do wish someone would have stopped by since they said they would do so. Also on day 2, I took a shower around 4 PM and the water got lukewarm at best. It was hotter again the following morning. Not sure if a lot of people decided to shower at 4 PM that day or what the issue was.||Neither of the small issues we had would prevent me from staying here again. It was overall a very positive experience and a lovely inn to stay in...
Read moreTLDR: It was an amazing experience, clean, helpful staff, but a little bit of a walk from downtown.
We recently stayed here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! It was clean, and the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Before we chose the Annabelle Inn, we compared about five different places for price, location, amenities, and I'm so happy we decided on Annabelle. Not to mention the welcome cookies that were a sweet touch!
I was very happy with the COVID protocols and how they enforced the importance of guest safety, such as mask requirements, limited daily contact, and a clean/individually wrapped breakfast spread. Before COVID, I was usually one of those people who put the "do not disturb" sign on my hotel doors, so it was nice that their protocol was to have guests ask for things like new towels, garbage removal, etc. Every time we had a request, it was immediately taken care of.
I would say that if you are considering staying here, be aware that it is down the street from the downtown area and more in a residential area, so you might need to walk a bit to a restaurant. However, there are multiple bus stops, the Downtowner app, A la Car food delivery, and downtown is only about a 5-10 minute walk away. I just wanted to say this because the maps are a bit deceiving if you haven't been to Aspen before. We also didn't consider how a 10-minute walk can be longer if there are icy conditions! But we are from Florida, so that also made us slower because we don't have a lot of experience with snow/ice!
Overall, we loved our stay and if we find ourselves in Aspen again, this is the only place we will stay! Thanks again to...
Read moreWe had a nice 7 day stay at Annabelle Inn. Positives: -Location!! It is right on the Main Street and a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. It is also right by the free bus that takes you to town and to other mountains. -Charming, cozy inn that has a little breakfast (hard boiled eggs, quiche, teas, coffee, cereal, bagels and English muffins) as well as cookies in the afternoon. -Rooms have a balcony, fire place and are a good space. -Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Negatives: -Loud! We could hear every single word, cough, laugh through the wall of the house room next to us. There was nothing we could do because they weren’t doing anything wrong by talking and laughing but it was not a faint sound; it was like they were in our room and we could hear every word. -Room gets hot. We had the front desk help us by turning off all heat in the room and it was still very warm. We couldn’t use our fireplace because it makes the room way hotter which was a bummer because who doesn’t want to use the cozy fireplace? -Front desk leave at 8 PM so if you need anything or your key doesn’t work or you want tea or to use the lobby, it’s closed. There’s a late night number you can call in case of an emergency. -Coffee is really bad. We aren’t coffee snobs but this coffee doesn’t taste like coffee. Just hot water.
All in all, it was a cute place in a good location. But it was definitely loud between rooms which hurt our...
