I used to love this location - little to no lines, never crowded, cleanliness, etc. However, I will no longer visit this location due to racial profiling. Yesterday, Wednesday, March 16th, I went into the store with my best friend, who is black. She wanted to look at skincare products and perfume that she would want to buy on payday, at the end of the week.
I asked the cashier if there were only Fenty Beauty skincare on the end of an isle or if there were some in a different spot. She informed me that was the only spot she could think of, which is fine. She didnāt have an attitude, she was nice, and that was that. But then I went back to my friend who was standing next to the Fenty Beauty skincare and told her what I was told. No problem. We started to walk around because she was curious about other skincare products.
She approached us yet another 3-4 times within 15 minutes to make sure we were still doing okay. Iāve worked customer service before and I get that itās her job, still thought it was a little weird she kept coming up to us. We finally get to the perfume section and she is standing at the cashier station, but she turns and looks at us. Then shortly after she goes to this corner of the room, less than 5 feet away from us, and just stands there. I get that itās their job to make sure nothing happens but Jesus Christ she made it so obvious.
A few minutes later and she walks to the cashier stand once again, looks at us, whispers to another cashier, and then that girl went to the same spot as the original girl did, and does the same thing. Now I do admit that we took a little while to smell the perfumes, but how are you supposed to know what perfumes you like/want to buy if you donāt smell them?? We noticed the girls do this and my best friend says āokay Iām ready to go.ā So we leave and the girls notice, and say with a snarky, sarcastic tone āthanks for comingā or something along those lines - I only remember how rude it sounded.
As soon as we get outside the door, I asked her if she felt as awkward and weird as I did from being watched that heavily. She reassured me Iām not the only one who felt/saw it and she said she doesnāt want to go back either. Itās ridiculous that my best friend had to experience this even in 2022. Itās even more ridiculous when Iāve been here at least 5 times - never having a single issue - yet the one time I come with my black friend sheās being watched like a hawk. Shame on you, Sephora. I will be posting this review anywhere that I can because the people have a right to know which businesses allow this kind of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery helpful employees. I was in and out in about 5 minutes with exactly what I wanted because of the very nice lady who showed me a few options and found me the perfect match to what I wanted just about instantly, so clearly the product knowledge is high. I wish I would have gotten the ladies name, but it was a taller African American woman with short hair and was wearing purple-ish lipstick. She listened to what I was looking for and the first option she brought me was the one. She showed me a couple other options, but her first pick was legitimately the exact product/color/necessities I was looking for in the lipstick she pointed out to me initially. I love how helpful the people that work in this store always are. It doesn't seem like they are just trying to make a sale but they listen to what you are looking for and find you the best match and are honest with the different qualities of said products and being a person that wears/knows very little about make up she probably cut 30-45 minutes off of my time finding the perfect match to what I wanted, and I honestly would not have even found that option had she not pointed it out. Such great customer service and the prices are about on par for what you'd expect out of the quality of make up expected from Sephora, I even got a little discount from spending money the last time I was in there so that was even more great! This will be my go to place for make up/facial cleansers from here on out. I couldn't have had a better experience and I thank the woman for finding me exactly what I wanted. I've worn it every day since and I absolute love it! (It was lady Gaga's matte lipstick sticks). It looks like it will last me quite a while too so I really have nothing but great things to say about this store and the employees that work there. Thanks guys!!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped by Sephora in Atascocita this morning to pick up a few products I was out of. Typically, it is always a pleasant experience, which I appreciate as I do spend hundreds of dollars in this store. But, today when I asked for a sample of a curl defining cream I wanted to try, which I have had no issue in the past when asking for a small sample request, the unfriendly employee said she could not do that. I proceeded to tell her I have gotten a few samples of items with no problem because I would like to know if it works for me before I spend $50 on it. The employee proceeded to tell me that they do not do samples of hair products. But yet we have all these bottles of hair products out here for testersā¦so am I supposed to do my hair in the middle of the store with a curl cream? Isnāt the whole point of a sample so you can take it home and try it before you decide you want to spend $50 on a product. Like I said typically I donāt have a problem with this Sephora as I frequent it often but for some reason today. I guess small things are just too big of a task. Thanks for the push to spend my money elsewhere.
Side note: When I spoke to a customer service rep through Sephora about my issue she was extremely pleasant and helpful. And! When I typically go the African women with very short hair is the nicest, sweetest, most helpful and informative employee and I have encountered her numerous times so I will add a star for her . IF I go back I will be sure to get her name and update...
