Worst experience ever with PAINTING WITH A TWIST
I have never written a bad review in my life, but I feel compelled to share what we experienced.
We scheduled to paint on Monday and showed up only to find the store closed and locked with no one there. After waiting 15 minutes past our scheduled time, we contacted the owner and she apologized stating that her employee quit within the hour and offered to reschedule us for the next day. I agreed understanding that things happen, only to show up again the next night with same scenario…the store was closed and locked. I left several messages and she returned my call over an hour later stating she had a car emergency. She was extremely rude and very adamant on not giving us any kind of discount or compensation for our troubles. She even tried to blame me stating that I ‘had put her over a barrel to give me what I want’. I have never encountered such a thing.
And to add, one thing that is ridiculous that really cracked me up was she used the analogy, “If you drive to Walmart to buy bread and they are out, Walmart would not discount you for your troubles.” 😂🙄🙄
Please beware when dealing with this company. We go every year to paint for Christmas and are so bummed with how we...
Read moreMy sister & I had never done Painting with a Twist before, so we went to celebrate her birthday. We ended up being the only 2 customers signed up for that painting session, which we thought was awesome..."Private lesson!" However, while the instructor, Marshall, was very sweet, his focus on instruction shifted within the first 10min from telling us which colors & brush strokes to use to music artists & the world of celebrities. Our understanding was also that a pre-painted example of the art work was suppose to be on display for us to mimic, but there wasn't; we had no inspiration piece; we were just painting blindly. The allotted time for the session was scheduled 4-6, & we finished 40min early! Afterward, we looked back online at the sample of what we were suppose to paint, & it had Much greater background detail than he even put in his painting. It seemed he had another engagement he was more interested in getting to than being properly prepared & giving proper instruction. We would do Painting with a Twist again, & maybe even at that location, but not with this instructor. We enjoyed the sister time, but our frustration with painting blindly & getting no instruction weighed down the experience...
Read moreMy group was about have the class. Honestly the class was scheduled for 2 hours and really should have been 3 hours. No one could keep up with the instructor, Rosa, and in the end no one's painting looked like the sample. I asked her to slow down because I was lost and behind. She told me she couldn't because there wasn't enough time. Did anyone offer to help, NO. Did anyone offer to help 1 time during the 2 hours, NO. Not even when I walked away from my easel due to frustration and stood at the back of the class. The only time anyone said anything was towards the end when I said I didn't give my consent to posting pictures with me in them. I spent close to $500 and am more than a little disappointed. I left frustrated and wishing I had gone somewhere else. I do NOT recommend this paint and sip. Pinot's Pallet and Merot to Masterpiece are infinately better. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else who understands that most of us go to these type of places because we aren't artists. We just want to have fun and to bring home something that makes us feel like we accomplished something, not to leave demoralized, frustrated, and asking why did I...
