Fringe — Local services in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I have been shopping at Fringe in Athens for about a year now. Anytime I need a game day outfit or even a cute top, pair of jeans, shoes, earrings, this is my go to spot. Most of the staff is extremely helpful and always helps me when picking out pieces that go together. If there’s something posted on their Instagram, I am reacting with their content. If there’s something posted that I love and they have it in my size, I immediately go to purchase it. If there’s something that I purchase and end up not liking, there’s never been a problem with me bringing it back (even with the tag not being attached). About three days ago a staff member helped me pick out a sweater-vest to wear for the game. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a long sleeve black top to go underneath. I went ahead and purchased the top just in case it sold out and I ended up liking it after I found an undershirt. Three days later, I found a shirt to go underneath but ended up not liking the vest with it so I decided to take it back. Once I arrived at the store, a women behind the counter (that I’ve never seen before) greets me asks me if I had a return. I proceeded to say yes and without taking a look at the sweater she states that she won’t return it for me because I’ve worn it and I took off the tag. Keep in mind, I’ve returned clothes from this store in the past and the tag not being attached was never an issue. I guess I would understand if I didn’t have the tag or the receipt but I had both. I understand if this is your policy/protocol but maybe you should make sure all of your staff understands this policy so it doesn’t confuse your loyal customers who have purchased hundreds of dollars of clothing from you. Do not care for this store!!! The employees and the manager are about the rudest employees in a clothing store I have ever experienced!! I feel they take advantage of customers primarily because they are mostly college students!! Be aware if you ever have to return anything!
