Crumbl — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

UPDATE: I wanted to provide an update to my original review as it was done 6 months ago. There have been many new employees added and changes at the corporate Crumbl level, but one thing hasn’t changed - the excellent quality of the cookies and the OUTSTANDING customer service.

Each time I walk into the store I’m greeted like a friend. I know the employees are always busy, but I’m a chatter, and I love these cookies way too much, so when I come in excited they’re happy to oblige me. My cookies are always decorated BEAUTIFULLY. As nerdy as unbelievable as this sounds, I’m in online Crumbl forums where people share their cookies from stores all around the country. I always see people complaining about their cookie’s appearance and quality; however, I’m happy to say that when I upload mine it even looks better than the Crumbl display image. The cookies always taste amazing and are baked to absolute perfection!

I know that, nationwide, Crumbl has implemented changes that have made it harder on the employees and that many customers (including myself) aren’t as happy with (this, of course, is outside of anyone’s control). If it does bother the employees at Athens, I’d never know; they always look incredibly happy! I may not buy as many cookies as I used to because of it, but I do continue to keep going to this store because I love the whole experience, large in part to the people who work here and make it the way it is.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experiences here at this Crumbl location. First, the obvious - of course, the cookies are amazing. I mean, who doesn’t love a million pounds of sugar and frosting deliciously decorated in various amounts of adorable ways?! It’s hard to argue that point there. However, what I think makes THIS particular location stand out is the people that work here.

The customer service is absolutely top-notch. I go to this location at least once a week (sometimes even 2x, 3x - whoopsie!) and each time I go I look forward to seeing the employees that will be there. They are BEYOND friendly, welcoming, and take the time to even get to know you as you come in so often. If I have ever had an issue (and this has never been on their part - usually with DoorDash), they’ve helped me find a solution and remedied it immediately. The cookies are always decorated to PERFECTION.

It sounds so silly to put so much stock in a “cookie place,” but as someone who has serious health issues and was unable to eat anything at all due to these health issues for a period of time in my life, these cookies bring me a lot of joy now, and a lot of this is in part to this Crumbl store. DO NOT EAT THESE COOKIES

Ok look I’m a long time home baker and cookie fan in general. I’ve been wanting to see what all the fuss was about at this place with the huge and expensive cookies. Got the opportunity this Saturday so I placed a curbside pickup order for a half dozen. I drive to the place, park and wait maybe 5-10 minutes, watching enviously as other customers exit with large pink boxes in hand. Then I see an associate come out with a box headed in my direction! She checks the order name with a smile and hands me the box (is this really only six cookies?! This box is HEAVY)

I get home but have to wait before diving into the cookies, me and the wife and kids need to eat lunch first (my 3 year old was very upset at this news). We eat and let that settle a bit. Then it’s time to dig in!

I cut the cookies in half and take a chocolate and a vanilla for myself. I can already tell how soft they are when I pick them up (the anticipation!). My first bite into the vanilla blows my mind. HOLY MOLY I didn’t know a cookie could be so incredibly tasty and soft and delicious. I tried to pace myself but was unsuccessful. Next was the chocolate! Massive flavor change from the vanilla (not sure why that surprised me, they’re opposite lol) sooooo chocolatey! It too did not last very long.

As I lay there basking in the afterglow of what had just transpired I had a sudden realization. Every other cookie from this moment on, whether from a store or made by myself, will never be as good as what I just had… and for that reason I say again: do NOT eat these cookies, unless you want to ruin yourself from ever enjoying any other...
