The work was fine. This review is more pertaining to my experience and your prices.
I already talked myself into spending the $120 for a silk press, for me that is high. THEN I get to the salon and Iām charged an extra $30 while Iām sitting at the shampoo bowl for have āhigh density hair.ā My hair is kinda thick and itās not long, a little past my shoulders. I can see if I need to pay the extra fee for my hair being down my back and super thick , my hair is a very average length and density.
That seems very predatory for a natural hair salon to champion growing/thickening your hair just so that they can turn around and charge you extra fees for having long and thick hair!!
On top of that, Tatiana asked me why I didnāt get the new client package which I think is around $200. I explained to her that it takes a while for me to trust a new hairstylist and I donāt want multiple services done without knowing if someone can do the basics. Mind you, it would have been the $200 PLUS $30 for thick hair plus tip??? Thatās close to $250 for a SILK PRESS
She proceeded to repeat how ādryā and ādeadā my hair was throughout the appointment and told me I need a deep conditioning and a trim.
I let her show me how much she wanted to trim off because she made it seem like my hair was in such bad condition, she wanted to trim more than 2 inches. NO MAāAM. So you charge me a fee for having shoulder length hair then you want to charge a fee to cut it off. LAUGHABLE.
She asked me what products I used. I answered tea tree oil and design essentials. She answered, āthats good butā¦ā girl, it doesnāt matter what I wouldāve said. You would have found a way to be a contrarian and tell me what Iām doing wrong any chance you get.
This is why people are SO apprehensive about seeing a new stylist. Yāall donāt know how to build trust or a rapport with your client.
This is a very money hungry business. Youāve priced yourself out of a client. I will not...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreShe recommended a trim for me. I asked how much. She said "1/2 inch at most". Midway, she said "maybe an inch". While l liked the cut, when l exited that chair and realized how much healthy hair she cut, l was shook. Initially, l decided not to post a negative review but when l read the caption of her video featuring my hair that read that l ASKED for a fuller cut and more movement. The full cut was fine and pretty to be sure. I even complimented her skills - but that isn't what l asked for. I didn't even know what a fuller cut was until she provided an unsolicited lesson WHILE cutting. I didn't even ask for a trim but trusted her to trim when she recommended.
You betrayed my trust because YOU did not like the way my hair was cut. Please don't lie - giving present and future clients false impressions and then leveraging your position to provide the service you want them to have versus the service they want or need. My goal is length retention and you made that journey just a bit...
