My friend brought me here because this is one of his favorite taco spots and he thought I would love it. When I walked in the host and I made eye contact but it was about 10 minutes before she greeted me, once I approached her and asked for a table. She saw me standing and waiting , as we were not even 5 feet from one another.
After she finally greeted me, my friend arrived and we waited for our table to be cleaned. Once the table was clean we patently waited to be seated but it had been about 10 minutes and we were still waiting by the host stand. My friend approached the host to let her know our table was ready. After her shock, she walked us to our table.
We were seated approximately 10 minutes before we asked a random employee if they knew who our server was. A server finally came. His very first sentence was “do you know what you want to order?” There was no “hi, my name is..” There was no courtesy or manners or friendliness.
I ordered the shrimp taco, a pork belly taco, and the Abuela salad. My friend ordered 2 grilled chicken flour tacos and a drink. My order came with an extra taco that I did not order, and there was no salad. My friend’s order came with corn tacos, not flour, and he never got his drink. The server said he never heard me say salad. But he literally repeated it when I said “Abuela salad.” I told him to take it off my order. He forgot to put in the order for my friend’s drink, and when it finally came 30 minutes later, it was watered down.
The shrimp taco was decent, the pork belly was dry with no flavor. I had to put a ton of salt on it. The service was very disappointing, especially with this being my first visit. The manager did comp our meal and apologize for the service, which we appreciated, but he had no explanation for why the service was so terrible. They were not busy and there were many open tables.
Very disappointing experience over all. This place seriously needs to get their customer service together and improve the accuracy of their orders.
This will be my last time coming to...
Read moreThis was actually my second time having Rreal Tacos, but the first time sitting in for the dining experience. The first time I had it was in the car at the downtown location (which parking SUCKS over there btw). However, me and my guy we had the Birria pizza, and it was pretty overwhelming! Huge, and a lot to share. Flavor was okay to me. But yesterday, on Mother's Day, I was able to get a reservation, there was free parking for an hour and a half, the wait to be seated was like 2-3 mins, and I really enjoyed the staff. To begin, I had no clue there were purse hooks under the table, and a staff member noticed I put my umbrella on the floor. And he came over and hooked it for me! He got major points for looking out for your girl! Then our server, Juliana R., she was very kind and hospitable, and I think she mentioned it was her first day or first weekend. I couldn’t tell! But this time around I had the shrimp tacos, and the flavor they came with was perfect! That slaw really married well with the texture of the grilled shrimp and corn tortilla. Btw, I asked for the chipotle mayo to be added and it was definitely the right addition. The salsa habanero I dressed my tacos with added the right amount of kick to them. I love spice and real flavor. My son had the rreal barbacoa nachos! He fell in love with his dish and I could tell because it was very silent in his side of the table 🏳️ and my daughter, who is as picky as me with texture, loved the chicken burrito. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head upon the first bite and gave it a thumbs up as she chewing! As a mom, I had silent celebrations all night choosing the right place for dinner. All in all, we were well taken care of yesterday evening and we can’t wait to go back and try other dishes! My son said take a picture of our big back plates 🤦🏽♀️ so...
Read moreThis is the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. The generic music was way too loud. My food was literally swimming in grease. Really it is such a soulless big-corporate idea of how to make a lot of money from overpricing food, I thought I was in an airport food court,
But aside from the bad food and soul-sucking ambience, the clincher for my worst restaurant prize is the inexcusably bad software that dominates the experience. To get a menu you have to use a barcode and no, it's not completely intuitive. A basket of chips and some salsa is $4.20. Guess what - no free refill.
Prices are generally a bit high. But the real magic comes when you try to pay the bill. Bar code again, and the pay portal is proprietary so you have to enter your entire card number by hand, plus date and code. Then you find that they have added a 20% tip to your bill and make it nearly impossible not to add an additional 3% to 7%.
When you finally manage to get all the information entered, they try to make you open an account using your email. Yeah, not happening. So you hit CONTINUE and you are sent to a page that tries to get you to sign up for a health club membership. Well maybe after that greasearama you'll need one.
So I hit the "back" button and it erased all my credit card information. I finally left cash on the table and just left, it's not like there were waitstaff hovering around to help.
Awful awful place, a terrible idea and badly managed. Did I mention that parking...
