I don't have any idea what happened... I had been to VM in E Cobb a few times for haircuts and they were great. I usually also got the conditioner that they said would last a while. I loved it. Felt like I had found a home. However, the last time I went, I also got a haircut and asked for that conditioning treatment. The rest is a nightmare. My hair was straight and flat as a board after the conditioner and cut. I just felt that I could style it at home later. However, this flat, straight stuff kept on being there, and nothing I could do would help -- it would not even turn under. I thought they had probably put something on me mistakenly and it would just wash out over time. I'm a patient person and know that people make mistakes, but this just never washed out and I looked like a concentration camp survivor for months before my hair started breaking off. It broke off and broke off... over time, it just looked like I had had my head in a blender, and I had to just get a new short haircut with someone else. I had previously had a chin length bob. It sill took it a lot of time to grow off, as that was the only thing that helped. Just grow it off, and cut it off. I went to other hairdressers and they said it was probably some kind of chemical straightener and could not imagine my having it happen to me.... I should have gone back immediately but I kept thinking it would wash out, fade out, wear out, but it just broke and broke. I knew after a while that I couldn't go back and claim that they had done this, because where was any proof. And it had been a while, and nobody could prove I had not done this to myself, or had some other salon do it. I was just caught in a tight spot. This has been a bad bad year and a half or so for my hair.... I do now have a longish pixie haircut and I do like it. But it's not from VM. What I got from VM was just unspeakable. So, my advice is that if you go here, ask at each step of the way what is going on. I feel that an assistant maybe just grabbed the wrong bottle of stuff, or the stylist did, or whatever... I wouldn't think they would have done this on purpose. Just sorry I did not go back, but kept hoping it would resolve itself. by washing out, etc. Please do be...
Read moreI visited this salon for the first time today. My stylist was Boston and he did a great job. My color came out great - if this review was based solely on my stylist, it would be 5 stars.
Outside of my particular stylist, I did not like the service. Specifically, the guy at the front desk was rude and made me feel super uncomfortable. I've been coloring my hair for years but have never been to a very upscale salon.
I arrived and told the man my name, and he immediately handed me a plastic bag and said "this is to put your belongings in" and then continued his side conversation with another member of the staff. If he had taken the time to say "have you been here before?" he would have understood the blank stare I gave him. Finally the other employee asked me if I had been here before. I said "no" and front desk dude (while looking irritated) quickly showed me around and explained what to do.
When it came time to check out, I walked back to the front desk, assuming that is where I paid (again, never been here before and no one told me where I should pay). The front desk guy literally laughed in my face and said "no, you pay over there" and motioned to another desk area of the salon.
To top it off, as I left, I said "have a nice day", as I do most of the time, and he said nothing at all, after I made eye contact with him when saying it.
For me, no matter how good a service is, if people at the place of business have terrible attitudes or are not friendly, my entire experience is ruined. I do not know if I will return to...
Read moreThis has taken me a long time to write bc I was so upset and somehow felt like I shouldnât have been as upset as I was seeing as the stylist pretended everything was fine. As sweet as Michael/Cassidy is, she melted off more than half my hair. Unfortunately I was not heard when I let her know the right half of my hair had been processed more that the other due to split color. She used same volume bleach all over and left it on for the same amount of time on both sides. Needless to say the right side started melting at the bowl. My hair was coming out in chunks as she blow dried it, she tried to hide it from me. When I went home for months my hair continued to crumble at the slightest touch. I ended up having to cut over 6â off (what was left anyway). My hair is almost grown out of the color now and clearly long term damage was done. The hair is fine and wonât hold my curls anymore. She charged me full price, never even mentioned the fact my hair was falling out in her hands, didnât apologize, literally pretended it wasnât like happening. She was pulling my hair out of her brush in handfuls and hiding it behind her back. I unfortunately didnât speak up bc I had a professional relationship with her at my work. Please be careful when getting color services from their âmaster coloristsâ. Photos show the immediate difference in length due to breaking/melting from...
