A week ago, my daughter came in to buy a necklace. They had some cute ones and my 11 year old daughter bought a gold chain. She came home only to discover it was broken. She was disappointed but we didn’t have time to return it during the week so we went on a weekend. There was an African American woman there named Von working the place. I’d give her 0 stars if I could. We walked in and she made us wait there for about 10 minutes until a huge line formed behind us. She then came to help us out, and once I told her I needed this item returned as it was broken when it was bought, she said she was unable to return it because it was broken? Mind you, this piece of jewelry was under warranty for 30 days, and I can return it any day I’d like during this time. She kept saying she didn’t have authorization to return it because it was broken and called her manager a minimum of five times and tons of texts and got no answer. We waited for maybe half a hour while she FINISHED the line that formed behind us. She then said to leave and come back another day. After waiting the whole time, her finishing the entire line and my daughter being disappointed, PLUS the disgusting jewelry the entire situation was atrocious. She is a horrible person. I reached over to give her my bag “on her side” so she could throw it away because if she’s seriously treating me like this over seven dollars I don’t want it anyway. and she tried saying she’s gonna call security on me and that I was somehow harassing her? I told her “yeah call security I’d love for them to come” and then she tried kicking me out of the store and kept telling me to get out, and kept saying I was harassing her when I was just STANDING THERE with my husband. There were multiple people in the store that were witnessing this. These people are thieves. I told her why all of this fuss when the necklace is seven dollars? She replied “yeah it is only seven dollars, just as you said” as to blame me for somehow making it a big deal..like I’m somehow in the wrong? I’ve never seen customer service this bad in my life, speaking to me as if I’m some random person off the streets. They never returned my money and I now have just a broken necklace laying around. I have also never seen a person working their store ALONE with zero authority. You either give your employees authority, or a manager is there as EMERGENCY and the employee is not left alone without permission to complete important tasks. is a horrible, disgusting place. To complain about this misunderstanding that customers have is one thing, and THANK YOU to her wonderful female coworker working register that tried explaining the customers stand point. The confusion comes from clearance signs over all areas of the store, with no staff identifying only the red sticker items are clearance. So it is safe to assume a customer would be surprised when they think they are picking clearance items to be told they are full price at check out. To say "this isn't Pontiac " is incredibly disgusting and degenerate behavior. My issue was NEVER the affordability, but I was only purchasing for one event that I will not wear again, so to spend $100 on jewelry when I could go spend $25 for one night, makes sense. Yes, your other stores may be in "bougie areas" as you claim, where "spending $100 would be okay" , but to dismiss an entire demographic of people based on where you think they live and how that determines their monetary worth, is disgusting. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM, not the store, not the people visiting, and that location should be ashamed to have you as an employee. Before casting your personal opinion on those visiting a costume jewelry store, you should learn to look that part, because you dear were far from anything "bougie" or of any representation of monetary value.
