Yes, the store has a decent selection of items, though prices aren't the best. The one "hot" item I was looking for was not available,(though I was told it was) but that wasn't the problem. THE PROBLEM was total lack of customer service PERIOD!!! We looked through kayaks, talking about needing help and wondering how to make a selection. The item we wanted wasn't available, so we were willing to spend more to take a different model kayak home. One employee, a young lady was standing in the kayak section watching us and about 6-8 other people look at the boats. This employee was wearing shorts that couldn't get any shorter(barely came down past her crotch) and a skin tight shirt stretched over her bosom..I am not sure if this is a new marketing tactic, but it was inappropriate. However, no worries because she was too busy listening to her Ipod to pay attention to the customers. An assistant manager walked by in a hurry, but the reason for the hurry wasn't obvious because he bypassed the customers. When we went to the service desk to inquire about items, prices, etc, we had another employee dismiss us, and turn her back to us when we asked her questions..then she begin to check out customers while we stood there waiting for any information or some help...she didn't help and she didn't call for anyone to help us. When we told her that she was poor customer service, she became very irate and rude (we literally said "you give poor customer service") As we turned to leave, the same customer service person muttered at my wife under her breath......geeeesh...bad mistake. After my wife gave her a scathing lecture on proper manners and customer service, we left. but today I say THANK YOU DICK'S because I called ACADEMY SPORTS...they had what I wanted, prepared it for pickup for me and helped me get the accessories I needed....WITHOUT being chased down and begged to...they even did a price match for me! I have to drive an hour and a half to get to these stores, I don't have time for major let downs and rudeness. So DICKS...I am...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews on this place, I was disturbed to even walk into a Dickâs. But then I went. I realized that the comments about the people on their âphonesâ arenât phones. They are devices they use in order to find items for you. And the comments about the guns, after speaking to a very knowledgeable young lady, I learned that the mall itself does not allow guns. So, why would a store in the mall allow a place to sell guns? It has absolutely nothing to do with politics. You want to purchase a gun? Go to a gun shop. Thereâs no reason for you to carry a gun inside of a mall with children and families anyway. Also, the comments about the rude associates, theyâre only rude when youâre rude. If they ask if you have a scorecard with them and you rudely interrupt them with a no, then no, they wonât be so nice. I think people forget that these associates are also humans too. You canât expect to be treated nicely if you arenât doing the same. The bad comments are coming from people who donât realize that if these associates donât come to work, you wouldnât be able to buy the things you need. Be more appreciative and stop complaining about rude behavior when youâre being rude yourself. And to add, the only reason the managers and folks in the store âfollowâ you is to see if youâd steal. They have every right to see someone looking suspicious and watch their moves. Itâs a business. Lastly, protection plans save YOU money. If youâre buying a $70 basketball, why not get the protection plan? If something happens to it, you would rather come back and spend another $70 on a ball? Or would you rather pay that $9 so you can get yourself a free one instead. Sometimes I wonder how yâall made it this far in life. Itâs a shame, people will leave a bad review out of anger instead of acknowledging their own faults and actions. COSTUMERS ARE NOT...
Read moreDick's got on my radar in Gwinnett County because we took our students there for community skills and they loved the big fish tank! And we loved to browse while we were there. I was surprised at how many office appropriate clothes they had. So hubby needed work and church pants and I knew had a gift card. The prices online are ridiculous, but they had a good sale on dress pants in store, probably because of the Masters. So far so good. Since I didn't know Hubby's size, I checked out their men's gym shoes too. That's where things went downhill. The one visible rep was engaged in a lengthy non-work conversation and didn't even acknowledge my presence no matter how many times I passed by. I finally flagged someone and they passed me off to someone else. The someone else couldn't even answer basic questions, so I walked off.
Came back a week later after finding out Hubby's pant size to see if sale still on. It was but I couldn't remember where they were. After walking around the whole store since there were NO employees to be found, I finally found someone in shoes who passed me off AGAIN. This someone else seemed like they didn't to be there and couldn't figure out what I was talking about. I had taken a pic of the display so hubby could tell me if they carried his size. While I'm trying to find the pic for the rep, they left me in the dust walking so fast! I asked for the manager. From then on, whole different experience. Please hire more employees like Kyle and Leah. They were so patient and helpful. Even if they were just giving me the cheesy-we-have-to-be-nice-to-customers-smile, they answered all my questions and made me feel valued. I would give Dick's another shot because they seem like they have a good men's gym...
