I work at the Augusta Mall and Charlie's has been my favorite place to eat since they opened there. The food is great but lately the service has been horrible. It is so slow. Today when I went, there was one girl up front, one guy cooking and at least one girl in back. I know this because she stuck her head out and looked at the line then went back into the back. There was one person waiting for her food. One person in front of me and several behind me. If took over 5 minutes for me to even place my order. Then over 15 minutes for me to get my order. The lady who was in front of me was still waiting on her order. Her little girl was complaining that she was hungry. I only had 30 minutes for lunch. By the time I got back with my meal, I had less then 10 minutes to eat and didn't have time to eat it all. It's really ridiculous. The service there used to be good, but not anymore. Read moreI mean, they've been around by the skin of their teeth. EVERY time I come by they are goofing around. They all seem to be on break instead of actually working. I stood at the register for several minutes before anyone stepped away from their conversation long enough to take my order. The other day they were open and didn't even have INGREDIENTS to make anything besides meat on bread. No other add ons. Employee retention is at 0% from the looks of it. Sandwiches come out about 15-20 min after ordering, not even exaggerating here. Idk about NOW but a year ago a ROACH crawled over the topping bar. This was back when they let you choose the toppings after the meat was prepared. Now you order your toppings at the register so I haven't been near the topping area to see since. We received our sandwiches within about 6 or 7 minutes but then realized one of the sandwiches was incorrect. My 14 year old daughter walked back up to see if maybe they had placed the wrong box in our bag but was yelled at by a disgruntled employee making sandwiches who stated “YOU MUST HAVE ORDERED IT WRONG.” Bless her heart.
