I don't shop at Macy's very often. But they had a great deal on a jacket I wanted right after Black Friday. I placed the order for the jacket online, and received an email a couple days later letting me know that the jacket was on back order and would not ship out until the new year.
I called Macy's directly and asked the associate on the phone to cancel my order which he said he did do. Then I went back in reorder the jacket because it was now at a cheaper price than the Black Friday special and it said it would ship out within a couple of days. I waited and received an email a day or two later stating that in fact the jacket was on its way. Now keep in mind this is the same wool coat that I ordered the first time.
I was very happy once I received the coat and love wearing it. A few weeks later I received an email and a text message stating that my coat was on its way and would arrive at the beginning of the year. If you remember I had canceled this order and got confirmation that it was canceled. I checked my credit card statement and sure enough on December 31st they charged me for the jacket a second time.
I made my way to the Macy's location at the Aurora Mall. After checking in with the online merchandise associate she was able to get a manager they were able to confirm that they did in fact not have the coat in stock as the email said they did and they were able to refund my money.
The reason I'm giving Macy's three stars for this is because they had confirmed that my order was canceled and it still required me to leave my house and go talk to someone in person to straighten it out. two stars is what I would normally have given them but the folks at Macy's were very nice...
Read moreThe fine jewelry department at Macy's made for a horrible experience today. I arrived to the department with all the display cases and saw only two women working. No biggie, so I walked around and waited. I thought that it was interesting that both women saw me standing there yet said nothing to me. They were with customers but, even though they looked right at me, walked past me several times, and clearly had the opportunity to just acknowledge my presence with a "hello" or a "I'll be right with you" they never did. They completely ignored me. What I needed was important so I was patient and waited. Other shoppers came and went but I was the only one to stay put and wait. Back in the day, jewelry sellers would be able to do 2 things at once as long as the jewelry was not sitting out, but these women couldn't care less that anyone else existed. After about a half hour, one lady finally finished up with her customers, passed me to walk over to the other display case and somehow started to help 2 people who had JUST walked up to the display cases. I caught her attention saying that I had been waiting for quite some time but she didn't acknowledge what I said. She kept helping other people and told me to hold on.
This experience was ridiculous and as someone who hates going to department stores for this very reason, I will never try to give Macy's my business in the future. I was a present and patient customer today and for that I got nothing in return but zero acknowledgement, zero recognition, and zero purchases. I wasted so much of my time that I wish I...
Read moreCheri was my cashier on 12/23/2016 , confused about pricing I asked her to void transaction, plus I wanted to use my Macy's plenti points. She says "you'll have me do this 20 times before you know what you want to do", taken back I told her to just void it and get me going, where she starts saying "whatever" and continues to talk back. Brian another employee, whom had just as much attitude as she did, even gave me the wrong corporate contact info! Spoke to store manager Mark and realised that's why these workers feel comfortable being rude and ungreatful for customers. Mark didn't care to listen, he would speak over me, defended cashiers actions due to "holiday rush" , his resolution to the problem was basically an "ok, deal with it". Never visiting this trash hole again, taking business elsewhere. These 3, Non presentable, rude, costomer service skill lacking individuals need to be at Wal-Mart, not Macy's! Maybe this happens a lot at THIS Macy's. Cheri, Brian, and Mark do not represent this company well, at all! Please give them an extended course on professional costomer relations, have them shadow my most visited Macy's store in park meadows, who's staff has always been more than wonderful! Mark, Brian and Cheri,...
