This off-leash dog park is very close to the Anschutz Medical Campus. It's fairly long and completely fenced; however, the sheep-style fencing might not contain your very small dog. It can get very muddy, as it is almost entirely dirt and built on a hill. At the very southwest corner of the park, there are a few clusters of large rocks, which at one time circled trees. All but one of the trees have completely died and have been cut down. There is one small square picnic table available.

3 Stars because it seems the city doesn’t take care of this park. No doggie bags provided. No water access, no shade past about 7:30am everyday. My dog loves coming here because it’s still a fun open area. But it just turns into a mud pit with any moisture.

This is about your average dog park. Seems like they just stamped out the area and said, “I guess we can put a dog park here.” Nothing special about it, the stars are for only two things Good size parking lot The dogs that are there every time we go are always so happy and friendly (which I know has nothing to do with the park, but helps)

Negatives: Absolutely no shade Only one poop bag station, at the entrance. Which leaves lazy dog parents to not pick up after their dog No water pumps to refill the bowls, PLEASE bring water with you when you come if you can. I always try to bring a gallon full of water to pour into the bowls I find The people there are not very interactive, I don’t think I’ve ever really had a conversation with anyone minus one time. NEVER go here when snow is on the ground or after snow/rain. The dirt plus the hill makes for a game show slip and slide with thick mud … well I hope that was mud. We made the mistake of going when it was nice after the snow and we spent almost two hours cleaning our shoes and our husky in snow around the actually park (people park). It was disgusting, and thick like a paste yet spread easily everywhere. My daughters newish shoes were ruined and one smelled bad of dog poop

I still like this dog park, but I only go when it’s cloudy and has not rained or snowed in a few days (dry ground)

Oh yea, beautiful view of the mountains and sky...

Not for smaller dogs. My dog is 10lbs and was having a blast till his husky trampled him a couple times. My dog was playing well with pitbulls, german shepherds, labs, and a few near his own size but this husky trampled and pounced on him multiple times making him cry out. Its a shame, my dog really loved his time he spent before getting treated like a rag doll. I understand huskys are energetic and play a bit rough but my dog isnt a toy for him. I didnt want to just leave and make him think the dog park was bad but he spent 20 mins in between my legs in fear. Even when the nice pitbulls and labs he was playing with before came to check if he was doing ok after the incident. Unfortunately I don't think I can bring him back.. It would be really nice if they had another closed off section for smaller dogs/dogs that play well with...

Been going for several years but have pretty much stopped. It's big enough for the dogs to get into chasing games and so they get a good workout. Too many times I've spent cleaning up after too many lazy owners. For the most part, the people are very friendly and it's like meeting friends for a while. I've cut back because lately too many owners coming who don't neuter their males which creates dangerous encounters with males who have been fixed. Not allowed to bring a female in heat but should most definitely should include intact males too. A lot of people want water provided but in fact, dogs drinking out of a shared bowl can...
