If you love Korean fried chicken or are curious about trying it for the first time, Bonchon Aurora is the perfect place to go. We recently visited this location and were thoroughly impressed by everything—from the food to the service to the overall atmosphere. Bonchon delivers a flavorful, high-quality dining experience that stands out from other casual spots in the area.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. The interior is clean, modern, and nicely laid out. It has a casual yet stylish vibe, making it a great place to hang out with friends, have a family dinner, or even do takeout if you’re in a rush. The music was upbeat but not too loud, and the environment was welcoming and relaxing.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because that’s what Bonchon is all about. We ordered a combo of wings and drumsticks with both Soy Garlic and Spicy flavors. The chicken was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It’s honestly some of the best Korean fried chicken we’ve ever had. The soy garlic has a deep, savory-sweet flavor that keeps you reaching for another bite, while the spicy has a real kick without being overwhelming. It’s bold, flavorful, and lingers just enough to remind you it’s legit.
In addition to the chicken, we tried a few of their appetizers and sides. The takoyaki was hot and crispy on the outside and creamy inside with a drizzle of mayo and bonito flakes on top—just how it should be. The kimchi coleslaw was an unexpected but delicious twist, adding a tangy crunch to the meal. We also shared the bibimbap, which came out sizzling in a stone bowl and was absolutely loaded with fresh veggies, perfectly cooked rice, and tender beef. Once mixed together with gochujang, it was a fantastic balance of flavors and textures.
Service was great—our server was attentive, kind, and happy to answer our questions about the menu. The food came out quickly and hot, and we never felt rushed or ignored. It’s always refreshing to have a team that genuinely cares about your experience.
Another thing worth mentioning is how well they package everything for takeout. We’ve ordered Bonchon for pickup before, and everything always comes fresh, neatly packed, and still crispy—even after a drive home. That says a lot about their attention to quality.
Parking was easy, and the location is super convenient if you’re shopping or passing through the area. Plus, their online ordering system is smooth and reliable, which makes this a go-to for quick lunches or dinners on busy days.
Bonchon Aurora truly brings the flavors of Korea in a fun, accessible, and high-quality way. Whether you’re dining in or ordering out, you’re going to get consistent food and service. This is the kind of place that becomes a regular stop because you know exactly what you’re going to get—crispy, crave-worthy chicken and a menu that surprises you with depth beyond just wings.
We left full, happy, and already talking about what we want to try next time. Highly recommend the soy garlic wings, the spicy combo for heat lovers, and the bibimbap if you’re looking for a heartier option. Bonchon Aurora deserves all five stars...
Read moreThis is actually an update to previous review. I went back and Bonchon totally redeemed themselves. Had BBQ wings and seasoned fries of course. Absolutely delicious and I was totally satisfied. Hot crunchy juicy chicken. The sauce was perfect. I so enjoyed my dinner that I forgot to take a new photo. That's when you know you were focused on the meal. Thank you for making my 4th visit awesome.
Previous experience….. What's the saying about 3rd time being the charm. Not here sorry to say. My first couple of times were on the weekend and I was really impressed. Korean Barbecue Chicken with side of Fried Rice and Seasoned Fries were amazing. Chicken was crunchy and most flavorful. Rice was good, even seasoned fries were crunchy and tasty. Third time was for lunch on a Thursday with coworkers. They were tired of hearing me bragging about this chicken. Well big mistake for myself and coworkers. Ordered online as usual, was there to pick it up. Had to call to let them know I was outside. This is a first. Normally they bring food right out. The lady who answered was basically like why are you calling. (1st red flag) Mind you this was a big order for 30 pcs. Guy finally brings out food. We get food and I noticed the smell of old cooking oil. (2nd red flag) Get back to work. The 3 of us dive in. Well chicken was not crunchy at all. In fact it seemed soft and soggy. Almost like left overs heated up in microwave. No Barbecue sauce flavor as ordered. (3rd red flag) We ate in silence. All I kept saying was wow. This is a total bust. Could it be because it's early and they just opened? Or was it because it's Thursday? Needless to say I was so disappointed. Not to mention my coworkers, feeling like they could have had something us. I ended up just paying for the meal. Gave them back their money. Third time turned into...
Read moreSo the staff is great , the girl at the counter was really nice also Nick who I believe is the manager was exceptionally nice and understanding. So I had originally order 10 wings half plain and half spicy. Well I got my order and as I was driving on rte88 I realized they gave me a "mix" meaning both wings and drums. Now I wouldn't have called and complained however i don't like drums at all and they seemed to have given me only 3 wings and the rest were drums. So I called regarding my order and I spoke with Nick and he was very nice and understanding. I asked for clarification on what a "10pc wing" actually meant just incase I was mistaken on my end. He reassured me that it does mean 10pc wings only with no drumsticks. I asked for a credit but they don't offer credits but he did offer to remake my order. Since I was no longer in the area I told them I will stop by later in the evening when I head back home. So I returned later in the evening around 8pm. I asked for my same order and they even left my get the soy garlic in stead of the plain wings which was very kind of them since I couldn't purchase the sauce on the side. However they did the same thing, Instead of giving me all wings I got a mix of wings and drums again!!
This time I didn't bother calling because I didn't want to seem like a pest or make them think I was trying to pull something over them and get free food. I just hope the staff pay attention more to their customers orders and honestly listen to their manager more clearly because I did hear him tell them specifically only "wings" as well. So it wasn't Nicks fault it was simply the staff in the kitchen. Other than that everything else was fine. The Korean dog we had was good and I thought it was a good price since every other place charges double the amount...
