I'm a big fan of Ballet Austin and the Butler Center for Dance and Fitness. I have taken beginner ballet for adults, attended many of their drop in classes including Bollywood and hip hop fitness classes. They also regularly offer a free day of dance where you can come in and try ALL of their drop in classes! I recently purchased a group reformer class package and I am so pleased. I have only taken classes with Tyler G. and she is the bomb diggity! The classes are challenging, but they are small and she offers guidance on form to ensure you are targeting the correct muscle groups, some of which I had never felt before this class! The class setting is somewhat laid back and she plays fun music. What I love most about this class and Tyler specifically is that I learn a few new exercises at each class and she does not follow the same old routine for each class. I always get a full body workout and I feel taller, stronger, and more confident after participating in her classes. Ballet Austin also has full changing rooms and showers if you need it. Parking can be tricky at peak times, but they validate parking at the city hall parking lot if you can't find a spot...
Read moreWe had a magical experience last night at the Nutracker. The show was spectacular, but we knew that beforehand. It’s Ballet Austin after all!
The thing is that we made a mistake and bought our tickets from a third party. We were told the emailed tickets would arrive the day before, but we never got them. We went to the ticket office, and were told we had to contact the seller. It wasn’t until then that we realized that we hadn’t purchased directly. To make a long story short, the tickets that we purchased had been canceled by Ballet Austin long ago because the seller violated their no-resell policy. Of course, we were never told, and were facing the possibility of missing the performance. But the staff at the ticket office were incredibly gracious. They explained what happened, asked us to report this to our credit card company, provided written evidence, and gave us two excellent complimentary tickets.
It is refreshing to deal with organizations that empower their employees to the point of making decisions like this. We are incredibly grateful for the way they handled it. That’s how you build a loyal customer base.
Thank you Ballet Austin for a...
Read moreThis review is for the packing situation for those who cannot walk, bite, or take public transportation, taxi/Uber/Lyft ride: limited small number of free parking on site (counted ~13 as of April 2024), most of the time all gone during open class time. The discounted parking at city hall still easily goes to $6 out of pocket after parking validation for 1.5hr class(essentially paying time to walk back and forth from parking lot to BA). If someone needed a bit time to warmup, change etc be ready for more parking fee. This number will go up if someone takes a workshop class after open class. Very expensive to be onsite for very 2 hr such as attending the intensive. Inquired BA if a couple of slots could be reserved for those who come from over 50miles without alternative commute options, and come for longer programs such as the intensive. Was told absolute no.
Make sure to budge for parking besides the...
