Hyde Park Presbyterian Church — Local services in Austin

My husband and I were married at Hydepark Presbyterian Church in December 2018. We had the challenge of organizing a wedding out of state. However we were amazed by how stress free this part of the journey was for us. The wedding coordinator Karen Laffer went above and beyond to make sure the church was open and available for the flower delivery and set up. Karen is hands-down the most responsive, helpful, organized, and calming coordinator I have ever met. She graciously walked us through our options in terms of church decoration, music, guest capacity, rehearsal and day of wedding expectations, and even provided us with tips for how to go about making the most out of ceremony experience. The church itself is beautiful and very versatile. The grounds are radiant and make for the most natural and unique pictures. The church has a wonderful Hall/Event Center that I recently rented for a wedding rehearsal dinner and the experience working with the Church Administrator (Karen L) was nothing but excellent. The location can accommodate 45 - 50 for an intimate setting and I would highly recommend it. They have a community Food Pantry as well as part of their mission and my experience was so outstanding I made a $$ contribution for that cause too. My partner and I got married here in October and it was perfect. The church is beautifully renovated and has lots of natural light, and was just right for about 75 people with a comfortable amount of space to spread out without feeling empty. It was intimate and not overwhelming to stand at the front of this size space (for an introvert).
