This review is for the new store at Capital Plaza off I35. Do yourself a favor and skip out on this place. The store manager and his employees are in a constant bad mood. They’re rude and never crack a smile. My story below.

I visited on June 30 and purchased 2 blind boxes and 1 food item. I get home and one of the blind boxes has a broke figurine inside. The receipt specifies defectives / damaged goods are eligible for refund, so I take the item back to the store on July 1. When I arrive, both the 2 female sales associates and 1 manager get very defensive immediately and say they can’t accept the return because I didn’t open the box inside the store. No where on the receipt does it state blind boxes are excluded from defective / damaged returns. They give me the phone number to corporate. I call corporate from the parking lot, and the first thing the person who annswers asks is “how did you get my number?”. I was shocked, as I suspected it was someone in a corporate office answering. Nope, it was the cell phone number of the branch manager. They weren’t supposed to give out his number. Thankfully he was willing to listen to my experience, and he approved the return. Then it took the customer service girl at the store 30 minutes to process the return. She originally wasn’t going to give me a receipt until I asked for one. Then she told me if the money doesn’t hit my account in X days to come back. Low and behold, 12 days later and it’s still not on my card. So I drove all the way back to the store. Again, it was the same grumpy employees and store manager. The manager asks how long it’s been since the return was done, and I said 12 days. He cuts me off and says “we haven’t even been open that many days.” Ummm sir, your store has definitely been open longer than 12 days. Check the dates on the receipts!! He then gave me the email address to corporate and said there is nothing they can do. So now I’m being passed off a second time. Went on opening day, it was clean and beautiful and i spent a lot of money -it was great! Second time I went i bought a blind box that was pretty expensive and it ended up being damaged upon opening. Since i opened it in my car i went back in to show them and i thought maybe i could get a discount at least. Instead they told me it was a manufacturer issue and couldn't do anything for me. Similar to Boxlunch or Hot Topic but a bit different. more like a fusion of Daiso and Boxlunch store.
