Planet Fitness — Local services in Austin

This review is my last resort for trying to get some type of resolution or acknowledgement of the issue with the sub titles that do not play on the CNN TV. I have communicated this to the front desk 3 times! 1 time supposedly to a manager. I also communicated this when I received a customer service survey. I was shocked to not get a response from that. What is the point in sending?? I am frustrated because in this current Political environment, there should be equal time for both conservative and liberal news broadcast. I have no interest, whatsoever in watching Fox News. It is strange, because ALL of the other TVs have working sub titles. I feel like the owner must be a conservative and refuses to acknowledge this. If this is the case, please be clear about it so I can go through the painful process of ending my contract. (this is what I am reading on other reviews). If I get no response to this review, I will proceed with cancellation as well. I offered possible solutions, such as playing CNN on another TV? Possibly the FOX channel TV? Or maybe alternate them if it is impossible to simply purchase another TV. As inexpensive as TV's are now, it should not be that big of a deal. I also really am disappointed in having to chronically complain about this. I have not gotten ONE response to my FOUR previous attempts. Not one person at the desk offered to get back to me with a status. No response, crickets to the customer service survey. Again, are you sending these out to simply satisfy a franchise requirement? or do you really care? Finally, here I am at my FIFTH attempt. I come here because this is the gym that is supposed to accept everybody and be kind to those who have disabilities. That is not the case and I wish to share my experience so that others will know how they will be treated. This evening I was working out on an elliptical when suddenly, the lights shut off. Because my left eye was injured from brain surgery, I can’t see well. It really scared me and I practically fell off my elliptical. My vision is distorted very easily when in darkness. Especially without warning. Also, I’m partially deaf. I can’t hear from one side due to the brain surgery and it interacts poorly with the eye complications. I seemed to have sprained my ankle when I was trying to get off the machine. I hobbled over to the closet behind the check-in desk where there was an employee on the telephone. I asked him if there was a reason the lights were turned off? He said “That they were closing in a few minutes”. I explained that this was a safety issue and that people were using equipment and that it was extremely dangerous to turn the lights off on them. I asked why he didn’t give any warning to the lights being turned off? He again repeated that they were closing in a few minutes. This was at 6:53 pm on a Saturday. I said that was unacceptable and I would be reaching out to a manager, to which he replied, with a laugh, “Good. An employee at this planet fitness was very rude and condescending. She made a point to even say my last name multiple times for the entire gym to here. Her name is Raquel I am homeless and I live mostly in My car. I pay my membership monthly. The black card s. So I can be clean. Shower. Keeping clean is the hardest obstacle being homeless. Austin has some places for showers. But they are shared by many. And not usually very clean. And you get 5 min sometimes 10. Barton springs pool and planet fitness are where I can shower. Take my time. Scrub it all away. And feel good and clean normal . Enjoy a hydro chair and for 24 a month I can have a shower pretty accessible all over Texas. It's worth every penny. I can face the world if im clean. I don't smell. I'm not dirty. I can go to work. Blend in. I would pick a shower over food most days. I

I've been to almost all of the planet fitness in Austin. I've never had anyone be anything but respected and kind.
