Visited La Posada approximately a year ago. Caldo de res was delicious as was the rest of the food and service was great. Returned to the restaurant today and right from the start the service was not friendly. We were made to feel like we were a nuisance for visiting the establishment. But even though the service staff first impression, along with the long wait for the food, we stuck around because we remember the great tasting food. We ordered caldo de res and cheese enchiladas. The caldo de res' broth is dark green and tastes overpowering of cumin and cilantro stems. It appears they put the cilantro in the boiling pot causing the broth to turn green. You put it in after so as to not have that occur... The gave you your moneys worht of cumin, whether you want it or not in the soup. .Unfortunate. The cheese enchiladas were filled with what looked like yellow cheese whiz cheese. No onions, no white cheese, nothing to make them appear much less taste like authentic cheese enchiladas. We also ordered chili con queso and we were brought cheese that was clumpy without chile (pico de gallo). The horchata drink was watered down and the soft drink was flat. We just don't understand how a restaurant can serve this food and be comfortable with it. Spent $40 and only could eat about 1/3 of the food due to bad taste. We went out of our way to LA Posada because of the great first experience. We won't be back because of this last experience. May be time for a quality control check of the food from the owner or kitchen manager For...
Read moreI have frequented this eatery from time to time. However, recently, when I drove up to the restaurant, they were closed. So, thought would give them a call before heading out to La Posada. When the call was answered, I asked if they were open for their regular hours. The lady was very rude and asked "Why would we answer the phone if we're not open?" Perturbed about her major attitude, I replied that just because they're answering their phone, it doesn't mean they're open for business, as there could be other things going on, like water outage, staff shortage, etc. This lady was hugely argumentative, and was quite obvious she didn't know how to be customer eccentric, much less wanted to work, with her very poor and condescending attitude. It left an extremely bad taste in my mouth, given her lousy and rude attitude. It's totally a shame, because their food is generally tasty. What doesn't this food establishment understand that it's not only about the food they serve, but also their customer service? This lady does not deserve a role at this restaurant with her crude and highly obnoxiously rude behavior. She was totally...
Read moreI don’t know how they got these 4.4 reviews the lady who was busting the tables parked her dirty cart with dishes next to my table and took my order. I ordered the specialty chicken enchiladas with tomatillo that were way off of what I expected it to be the tortillas I sent back because they were hard as a frisbee my wife ordered the cheese enchilada kids meal thank God because it was nothing to smile about. I am a Mexican man and I’m easy-going. I’m not hard to please. I think a lot of the clients here are Caucasian so they don’t know the difference and because of that there is no comparison and they’re not held at a higher standard, which is probably why they may be experiencing financial troubles and that could be why the pricing has gone up from 7:50 to 999 for the lunch specials but I would suggest keeping the lunch specials at a affordable rate at 7:50 and keeping great food. To keep your customers continuing to come out and not charging an extra dollar for chips and salsa and 999 for a mediocre at best lunch special, that is my honest review I wish them the best, but unfortunately, I will not...
