A total gem on the east side.
I found Radius while exploring new spots in the neighborhood and this place blew me away. It's more than just a butcher—it’s a micro-grocery built for people who care about where their food comes from.
The meat selection is next-level: super fresh, locally sourced, and of the highest quality. All grass-fed and pasture raised. And the best part? You can actually talk to the butcher about where the cuts came from, how to cook them, etc. Way more personal and intentional than what you’ll find at a typical grocery store. Picked up some grass-fed ground beef it was insanely flavorful.
They’ve also got a curated section of high-quality groceries—local eggs, raw dairy, heirloom produce, and other stuff you don’t find at H-E-B or even Whole Foods. Prices were totally fair given the quality and sourcing.
What really sold me: the vibe. It’s clear this place was built with care. The staff are welcoming without being pushy, and the energy is chill but dialed in. It felt like I was supporting something that matters—not just buying food, but investing in a better food system.
Highly recommend to anyone who values quality ingredients, transparency in sourcing, and supporting local. Definitely my new go-to spot for meat...
Read moreWent to pickup a Wagyu brisket. It was wrapped and no one offered to show it to me. I saw some filets that were Wagyu that were poorly marbled. I asked about them and I was told they were grass fed. Should have been a red light. Checking out, the person helping me trying to scan it almost bent it in a u shape. I did not unwrap it until the night before I was going to put it on the smoker. It was very lean for Wagyu and had a couple of fissures or cuts in the meat. Looking below you can see them. It is pretty unlikely the long cut was from the staff bending it. Be sure to inspect what you expect there. Very disappointing.
Thank you for your response. I am very aware of grass-fed beef and how it is better. Our family ( Dad. brother and myself) has had a calf and cattle operation since I was 13 years old. It was primarily grass fed. Cubes only when the cold winter moths required them for survival. Still managed to produce well marbled prime and consistently topping the market at auction. Due to our reputation of producing quality beef. So I am not stranger to what grass fed can be....
Read moreExcellent grocery for shopping local, it's clear they searched high and low to find as many products as possible sourced from inside Texas. Great selection of dry goods, wine/beer, teas, snacks, etc. from local producers. Produce selection is pretty good for in-season items (but this isn't a full grocery store, so expect some things might not be available).
The butcher case and products made in-house are where this place really shines. Absolutely stunning fresh butchered beef, lamb, and pork. Equally delicious looking aged meats and fresh sausages. I roasted one of the whole spatchcocked "heirloom" chickens and it was easily the best roast chicken I have ever eaten, let alone cooked. Seafood selection is also surprisingly robust with multiple options for gulf caught fish and shrimp. They also make a wide selection of broths, stocks, and sauces which again, all look amazing. Their smoked fish spread is an amazing addition to a charcuterie board.
Expect to pay a premium for these products, but I can honestly say that everything I have tried has been well worth...
