Not a great day at our favorite Target today. We must go to this target 2-4 times a week for anything and everything and truly we are those people that walk in with one item in mind and walk out with maybe 20 things we never knew we needed. To say we love our Target is an understatement. However, after the interaction with management today I don't know when we will go in there next.
We actually went in there for socks but because we are expecting a baby in the fall we always love to go see the baby section and see if there is anything that catches our eye.
We already have a crib and saw a wonderful Delta changing table that matched it perfectly. We searched mightily to look for a price tag but could not find any information. Luckily, a wonderful employee named Jordan came to our rescue and was ready to answer any questions we had. We simply just wanted to know the price and he went above and beyond his duties to go look in the back and find out everything he could for us.
Sweet Jordan came back with a display of that changing table (they had 2 in stock of the display) and explained to us that because this table was not ever going to be used in any capacity and that Target would happily sell us the discount table for a hefty discount. We of course took our time going over details like safety, if the changing table was exactly like a real one that would be sold, etc. and again Jordan took the time to address our questions and concerns and we truly appreciated not only his customer service but the very kind discount that was offered.
Jordan took the changing table up to the Guest Services area and told us we could purchase the changing table when we were done with our other shopping needs.
When ready to check out we checked in with one manager who was overseeing the check out stations inquiring about where we could find our changing table. She was very kind (and knew of the situation, pricing, etc.) and found out using her walky where the changing table was and she directed us to go to Guest Services. She too was wonderful to talk to and work with.
At GS we dealt with another very kind employee. She was having trouble getting the computer to ring up the special price and needed help from a manager so we could actually pay. Poor thing called for management help 5 separate times as we waited and chatted with her for 10 minutes. She finally had to go and physically get a manager to help and she brought a new manager over to assist her with the computer. This manager, I wish we had gotten her name (she kept covering her tag with her hair and hand and never introduced herself) took about 1 minute to simply tell Megan we could not have it, then looked at us and came over to discuss I guess a little more thoroughly.
This manager was very short and could not really explain to us why she would not sell us the changing table. All she kept saying was that she would go explain to her team this was not doable. Never once did she answer my or my husbands questions or even give us the time to understand exactly what the problem was. And on top of that she did want to let us know we could go pick out another changing table and she would discount that for us as well but it would not be "nearly as much" as Jordan had told us. Okay....thanks?
I just really would have appreciated a kind and helpful manager in this situation since we were a little lost and really just excited that Target was as usual (before this interaction) amazing and so kind.
At the end of the day I feel like customer service is key (I work in this field myself). I also just believe that kindness is so crucial in this world. I wish our expectation could have been met and not just tossed out by a manager who had no interest in time or helping us.
I hope this note - if anything - might help Target to see that their employees like Jordan are wonderful and maybe help illustrate the importance of helpful and thoughtful management. Lastly, when something is agreed upon it should be honored and not just tossed to the side like a customer voice...
Read moreJust moved back down south and I’m missing the Arboretum and Lakeline Target stores a lot right now! The managers at this location are aloof at best, rude at worst and as a longtime Target Bullseye Member and avid Target App user who almost solely shops at Target, I’m super bummed that this is the bigger, better stocked locations of the two in close proximity to my new place.
I often shop late because I have a service animal and need a low stress/less busy experience. Instead of announcing closing time over the speaker, they send the youngest employees with the least experience out to hunt customers and stalk you until you head up to check out. I love when they ask me if they can help me and then walk away before I can ask where something is or give me bad instructions on where something is.
The reason I’m writing this review though is the price match policy that they make so uncomfortable and blown out of proportion that I don’t even want to shop here anymore. It takes 2 seconds to scan a barcode with the Target app to check for Target Circle offers and the often lower online than in-store prices. They honor these prices at every store and any clerk can do it. It takes 30 sec and can even be at self checkout.
The past two times I’ve shopped here and asked them to honor an online price, they’ve not only required a manager to slowly make their way to me but then haven’t allowed me to quickly use my app to scan the item in front of them to show them the price; instead making a huge deal out of it and using their scanner to look up the price as if I’m lying. Nothing bothers me more than someone treating me as if I don’t know what I’m doing and/or someone trying to prove me wrong just for the sake of being right.
That’s why the 1 star. They do always have items in stock that other locations do not per the app despite being a small store, but it’s not worth dealing with rude people to have things now. Thanks to the poor customer service here, I’ll be doing more online/deliver to my door purchasing and less overall...
Read moreDo NOT register here for your Baby registry. The registry desk lady was so rude she just gave us the scanner and walked away. No instructions nothing. We ended up having to ask 3 employees before returning the scanner bc nothing was scanning. When we got a new scanner again nothing in the baby section would scan. The manager said it was due to “wind”, than it was due to “their system” and “we need a new scanner” she than told me I could use the app. When I asked how do I bring my registry up on my app she told me I had to go back to customer service bc she didn’t know. When I went back the same lady took my scanner and said okay all done so I just gave up on even going back with my phone. I asked her if there was anything I needed to know and she said no. I do not know how people will be able to look at my registry bc I can’t even find my own registry. I asked her if we would revive a registry bag and she said no they have been out for 3 months and I could go to another store bc she didn’t know when they would have any in. Nobody especially a pregnant woman trying to register so people would spend ALLOT of money at target should be given any type of attitude or shooed off. I left crying and sat in the parking lot crying for 30 min because of how we were treated. I will be updating all my mom friends to unregister from target and stick to the other store we are registered at. This was...
