Do you want to know why I don’t shop at Big Y? Here is another reason. My wife stopped into the Avon Store to pick up a few things that we couldn’t get at Walmart. In the checkout line when asked by the cashier if she had a shopping card, my wife responded sorry I used to but I cannot remember the phone number that it was connected to. She explained that it was open over 20 years ago. Just an FYI we have moved between a few states over the past 20+ years. The cashier took exception to her not knowing what the number associated with it was in a loud voice that put my wife off. My wife then asked if there was a front end card that could be used. The cashier then needed to call the front end manager and again in a loud and embarrassing voice proclaimed to everyone that my wife didn’t know her phone number.
I grew up working in the grocery business working for both Walbaums FoodMart and Edwards Food Warehouse all through school. This type of customer service would not have been tolerated back then and shouldn’t be now.

Today I was disrespected by two store mangers at the Avon, CT location. One of them was blonde and the other had reddish-brown hair. I was helping a woman from Korea try to buy gift cards. This woman did not know English and needed a translator app.
!!! I was NOT aware she had tried to buy gift cards before I arrived !!!
When we went up to the counter to pay I realized she did not have her BIG Y card. I tried to explain to her that she needed the card but, I couldn't get through to her. I was expecting the management or someone to help me or take over the situation but, was confronted by one of the mangers who raised her tone at ME! She could have told me in a calm way about the situation but, NO! Then the other manger then came over and told ME to tell her she needs to leave! I was disgusted by the way they treated me and the way they wanted me to do their JOB!! They acted as if I knew about the situation at hand !! I was just trying to be a good citizen instead I got yelled at !!

Right before checking out the pack of waters we were checking out opened and started leaking all over the ground. Barbara couldn’t comprehend that the item was damaged and was leaking on the floor which causes a potential hazard for other customers. We simply tried telling her to help her situation and to make sure upcoming customers would not slip and fall. Also my father went to grab a new case and while waiting she just told me to pick up the leaking case which would spill water more and two I got shoulder dislocation surgery I needed to wait for my father to come back to lift the case.
