I went to pick up my online order after receiving a reminder email advising that I had until 8pm on Dec 21. I arrived to the Pick-up desk and waited well over 15 minutes for someone to come to the desk. "Several" employees walked by me and no one spoke to me. Eventually someone who had walked by me earlier came to the desk and advised that he had to wait for the scanner to work. He offered no greeting, no apology, no acknowledgement of me waiting for a very long time and then he proceeded to lean on the back counter and wait. He called for someone to bring a different scanner and no one responded. I could hear people speaking over the radio, apparently everyone was in need of assistance and felt like they were alone and left out to dry. No one answered his request for assistance so we waited some more. After quite a while he said it was working and asked me my name... he never asked for my ID. I asked him if he'd like to scan the barcode from my order and which apparently never occurred to him until I mentioned it. He scanned the bar code but it didn't populate my order. He made several attempts but he could not find the order. Long story short... it took 3 associates over a ridiculously length of time to determine that my order had been canceled about an hour earlier. Apparently they cancel orders in the "afternoon" despite what the email says and no one knew that for the almost hour that it took for them to figure it out. They told me that my money would be refunded. I asked them what I should do from this point and if the game that I came to pick up was actually in the store. They stared blankly at me and said "uh, you should be able to find it". No offer to confirm that it was available still or bring it to me considering I've been patiently waiting for a resolution. I went to locate the game and eventually found it... locked in a case and no one around to unlock it. I left the store... one less Christmas present and extremely annoyed with the poor...
Read moreI went on line which I never do because of what I'm about to explain. I ordered a specific dumb and dumber hotwheels truck on line. It said they had 4 in store so I payed for it on line at like 1pm and it said pick up after 5pm. So I waited did some things, 6pm I go to my email and it said ready for pickup. So I clicked the link that says I'm on the way and it said click link when you arrive. I arrive, spot number 4 and the guy comes out with a random hotwheels truck. I said that's not what I ordered. He told me to come inside to the service desk and explained it to them. First of all, I shouldn't have to speak with anyone if they would get orders right. I don't even live near here. So I waisted gas and time to not even get what I ordered on line. The manager told me that someone may have bought it before they could grab it off the shelf and I'm like WHAT!!! ON LINE ORDERS SHOULD NOT BE ON SHELVES IT SHOULD BE IN THE BACK FOR ON LINE CUSTOMERS! No compensation at all for it. Now I have to wait for my money to return to my card which is so unfair. I'm going to post on every link they have to get my point across, BBB, OTHER SITES. IM GOING TO MAKE IT MY SECOND JOB 9-5 TO GET MY POINT ACROSS... Read moreI have seen no change in the Wal-Mart store that I shop at. Wal-mart did what most big box stores have done. Cut back on staff, like cashiers..they install self checkouts & have customers ring up there own items..why pay a cashier when customers will work for free..genius! Need help in a specific department ? Good luck finding anyone that works in said department ..of you are lucky, you may find a salesperson that says they will go try to find someone else that knows as little as they do. I have been able to consistently find salespeople in the electronics department. Just this week , I was in the Hamden Ct location. I was walking from front door to the hardware department when three employees heading toward me where having a conversation, every other word was the F-bomb from the one male in the group, loud, rude & obnoxious. "Why do I bother coming into this store?" is the thought that was going through my mind. I can stay home and order from Amazon and have my items same or next day..I can order from Wal-mart too for that matter. It just really surprises me that Wal-mart went from awesome to no better than K-mart. I Couldn't wait to go to Wal-mart when they first came to Connecticut..now I try to avid them...
