I've been a kitchen manager and worked every position in a restaurant.
service: Our waiter Johann was absolutely phenomenal and hit every mark that exemplifies extraordinary service. He catered to our time, offered menu knowledge, and "read the room" when it was time to pay our bill and even offered a box. Promote this guy asap or at least give him a section larger than (2) 2 tops. I know our boy can handle it.
Food: I was skeptic on the runniness on the eggs but it was perfect; I didn't care for runny yolk as a child but in my 30's it all changed. Wild Eggs delivered.
Atmosphere: Oh man let me get real here. We were sat right by the service station where the drinks / bar is held and oh my god my wife and I got tea.
First off, If you're a manager the entire restaurant is your backbone, livelihood, your team. I've had managers in the past that will literally take the shirt their back to have you succeed. Here it was not the case. The managers were too busy running around scolding people who were busy in their sections and offered no help in the slightest to make their job easier. Managers were at the host stand greeting people and making small talk (avoiding work) when they should have been running food. YES running food. I heard from the kitchen multiple times for a runner and I didn't see any manager lift a finger. I know you're salary and you think you're greater than your peers but that makes a terrible leader. Question for the managers here; if a customer threw up who would clean it. You or a busser? If you think Busser kick rocks and leave. The management from appearances seem abysmal and would not deliver if asked.
Leaders lead by showing not telling. I wouldn't be surprised if all employees despise their bosses.
The part that made us laugh the hardest was the server / bartender drama. The server with (4) 4 tops was "overwhelmed" yelling at kitchen staff, had others run her food, couldn't buss her own section all while needing coddling from her crush from the bartender. Honey if you want $$ do better and don't wear your stress on your face it worries customers; but I get it management probably doesn't have your back.
Girl run. just because he has a apartment doesn't mean he is a savior. You don't need mid shift hugs and back rubs to make everything better.
anyway great experience but lots of drama and your managers need leadership...
Read moreDecent place, but the costs add up quickly, so be VERY careful. A cappuccino was $6.49, and apparently it was an extra $1.00 for hazelnut flavoring. My latte was also $6.49, and I'm sure if I'd asked for it to be vanilla flavored it would have been an extra $1.00. That, plus two main dishes and a side dish, and I was surprised to see a final bill of $56.10. With tip, the final damage was $65.99. For BREAKFAST. Unbelievable.
Also, I SWEAR I very deliberately pressed the 15% tip button on the device, but I'm looking at my receipt now and apparently we gave them a 17.6% tip instead. That discrepancy makes me a bit miffed, honestly. I would honestly not be surprised if their payment device is programmed to "accidentally" mess it up. So, be careful, and I'd strongly recommend calculating the tip yourself.
As for the actual food... I had the California Bennie (see attached photo). 4 out of 5, not enough hollandaise sauce, and overall felt a bit small and underwhelming.
Atmosphere, 4 out of 5. The egg theme is amusing of course, but the place still felt a little bare.
Verdict... yes, go. It's a nice enough place for brunch. I'd go again. But drink your coffee at home, and order water instead. $7.49 for a hazelnut cappuccino is highway robbery. And look at the menu, they're charging $7 for a large glass of milk! You could buy nearly 3 gallons at the grocery store...
Read moreEaten herr many times and am a member of the rewards program; however, we just now left without being served. We asked to be seated outside not realizing the wind would make the air too cold for our 6 year old grand daughter to sit through the meal. We asked to be moved inside and we're told by a tall bearded white man who worked there no tables were available. We decided to to tough it out. Nicole kindly took our drink order and as she was returning to serve drinks We decided to leave. We actually waited for her to return before we got up to leave so we could tell her. When we told her our situation and we are leaving she asked if we want to move inside. We said yes but we told her about outlr conversation with the man. She said she was sorry and followed us inside where we all saw 4 empty tables. The man who told us there was no space was standing there looking on as if nothing was happening. No one officially offered us a table inside at that point and I felt bad that Nicole lost out on our order because she was stuck in the middle of the situation. When we walked through the lobby there was 1 person sitting there and 1 person walking in the door. This is our first encounter with poor treatment at this restaurant and we may or may not be back. The man who seemed to be running the show needs retraining in...
