I don’t fish. I literally have no reason to buy bait or tackle. But I’ve made sure the beer stayed cold on plenty of fishing trips, which means I’ve stopped in my fair share of bait and tackle shops. Even though I purely stopped in because they have cigars, I still took a look around. They’ve got a super huge stock of practically everything you would need whether you’re going out on the boat, off the pier, or wading off the beach. As far as the cigar selection, it’s not huge, but it’s a walk-in humidor with plenty to choose from. A good selection of Drew Estates choices, Montecristo, Camacho, and others. The climate and humidity is spot on, I didn’t even have to rest them beside smoking one. Also, the prices are very reasonable, if not better than other places I have stopped before. Frank and Fran's is one of my favorite places on Earth. I have been a faithful customer since my first trip down to Avon in 2009. This place has next level customer service. When you walk in you feel so welcomed. If you have a question, they listen to you and answer without making you feel like you're an idiot - which is so important! Some people hate learning because they are afraid of being perceived as dumb, but here you don't have that fear of asking more questions. The more you know the better you fish! I also love the apparel selection. My friends and I buy a new shirt or hoodie every year to add to our collection. This place does not disappoint....

Frank & Fran's is truly an institution of Hatteras Island. Even though they have new owners they have continued to have fresh bait and great affordable fishing gear. They do an updated daily fishing log of the local towns catches as well as tide times. Knowledgeable and courtesy. Don't quote me but I think the new owner has dive and fishing charters daily.
