Would not suggest. Went in to ask for a simple cafe au lait and the woman behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. When I explained that it was simply just brewed coffee with steamed milk (in my case oat) she couldn’t understand that and was rude. If you’re a coffee shop you should be able to make coffee? You can make lattes and cappuccino, but not brewed coffee with steamed oat milk?? Additionally I got charged an extra dollar for oat milk, but there wasn’t any oat milk in it? I understand oat milk can be difficult to steam, but there was no excuse for how it was given to me. When my husband asked for it to be remade correctly the woman stuck her hand up to imply that my husband stop talking to her? We were treated like complete outsiders and as if we had no right to be there. They continued to be rude while taking the coffee back and told me they would steam it like a cappuccino? I didn’t want extra foam nor did I ask for it to be made like a cappuccino! Plus it wasn’t even made like a cappuccino absolutely no foam. When they handed it back to me incorrectly and with passiveness I asked my husband to just leave as the rest of the customers were staring at how they were treating us. I wanted extra steamed frothy milk as if you were making milk for a latte as explained multiple times!! I also took the time to kindly explain what a cafe au lait was and how simple it was to make. Drove out of our way as we went here years ago and enjoyed it, but never again. Terrible...
Read moreI’ve went into Ugly Mugs multiple times, as I am a regular. The coffee is good, and the prices are normal for here at the coast. However, it never fails I get rude service. The employees do not want to do anything other than the bare minimum. Multiple drinks were pushed out that were ordered after mine.
I asked for a 20oz cup and the employee grabbed a 12oz cup. I asked again if I could get the 20oz cup and the employee slung the cup to the side. Then an uncomfortable and very unprofessional argument broke out between an older woman employee and a younger man employee. Where he claims he had needs to get to the bathroom for an hour and complained about multiple other things. Then, the older woman employee screamed people’s names multiple times in a rude manner to come and get their drinks. She will continue to shout your name even as you’re walking up to the counter.
I enjoy the coffee, but the service and atmosphere make it very difficult to push myself to go in there !!! Beware of getting...
Read moreFirst time stopping at the Uglie Mugs Coffee Shop since they had great reviews online! The store is cute and has a lot of character with the artwork/funky mugs plus the drink menu has a nice selection. However, the prices/food case/service was horrible. The baristas had a friend in the back of the store talking to them the whole time and they kept getting distracted and stop making drinks to talk to their friend which caused a line to go out the door. Midway through waiting to order one of the barista started counting his tips out of the tip jar (assuming he was done with his shift) so there was only one girl making drinks. There were a weak selection of baked goods and most of them looked old and there were flies in the case. I ordered a large iced tea and a small mocha but was told there were no lids for large cups so I changed the iced tea to a small and it was almost $10 for both drinks - seems high for two 12oz drinks. This is our first and last time ever...
