Rude and horrible customer service. I went to the Rodanthe location at their opening time (9AM) and no one showed up. I called the Avon store and they just casually said “oh yeah, we’ll be there soon”. I waited outside the store for 30 minutes before anyone arrived. When I got my bike the woman that rang me out said they would pick up my bike from my rental property. I gave them my rental property address and the day I preferred it to be picked up. I asked MULTIPLE questions before leaving the store “How does pick up work? What time will it be picked up? Where do I leave it outside the house?” and she INSISTED with all her responses that it would be picked up, “We will pick it up, just leave it outside front, we will text you the morning off and pick up is anytime in the morning”. My email also says that it would be picked up. They never picked it up. I called them this morning as I am driving home and the woman on the phone had a nasty attitude. She explained that the policy required me to drop off the bike. While that may be true, I was misinformed by an employee. Rather than apologizing for the misinformation she double downed and just didn’t believe a word I said. She kept going back and forth with me, trying anything to prove a point. Absolutely rude and nasty attitude the entire time. It’s not my fault I was misinformed and it’s literally yalls job. Just drive the 3 miles to pick up the bike like you said you would rather than being rude to...

After losing an old bike tube on the way to vacation, we stopped in to have it replaced. The owner was the NICEST guy, took care of it in a matter of minutes and I was on my way. The next day… popped the other tires tube (like I said - OLD). Went back today and left it with them as the mechanic (who I assume is the owner) was out and about. As we were in the next town over and knew we were coming back later in the evening, I asked for them to leave it outside so I could grab it later. When I got there at around 7:45, long after they close, the tire was nowhere to be found. BUT WAIT… I called the number on their door and Brittany (stellar front desk girl I had talked to earlier) DROVE BACK AND BROUGHT THE TIRE OUT TO ME WITH A SMILE AND AN APOLOGY!!!

Quality bikes that are perfect for getting around town during our week on Hatteras Island. The fact they deliver and have them waiting for you upon your arrival is a PLUS! We used to haul our bikes down in the past, but not having to worry about space in the truck or leaving our cargo rack at home because we're taking the bike rack is well worth the cost.

Our friends who were staying with us pulled up when the bikes were being delivered. They liked the bikes so much, they asked if 3 more bikes could be delivered and without a blink of an eye, Island Cycles brought us 3 more bikes within the hour.

We also took the bikes over to Ocracoke via the Express Ferry, which in my opinion is the best option to visit Ocracoke. In years past we wasted hours waiting for the vehicle ferry. Just rent the bikes from Island Cycles and take the Express Ferry! Give you plenty of time to explore the island and leaves the stress of catching the vehicle ferry behind in the dust because you're guaranteed a spot on the express ferry once you...
