Tl;dr NEVER SHOP HERE. Save-a-Lot is my neighborhood grocery store and I've been shopping there for six years. Tonight, when I entered the store, the security guard yelled at me to leave my empty reuseable bags on a shelf by the exit. Other people were shopping in the store carrying their reusable bags, but they were not yelled at for it like I was. The security guard continued to yell and scream at me when I asked why I was the only one who had to follow the "rule". He got up in my face and violently threatened me when I pointed out that the security guard is rarely watching the bag shelf and that I was concerned about my bags being stolen. The security guard then went after a young couple that had bags - he forced them to take everything out of their bags and put it in a cart before they could get in the checkout line. This kind of inhuman treatment of regular paying customers is unbelievable. What are the new owners of this store thinking??? I am shocked that the owners of this store choose to run their business like thugs, having their employees literally scream and yell and threaten paying customers with violence. I have the final several minutes of this disgusting scene on video. I would appreciate a prompt apology from the store owner and an immediate correction of this dehumanizing policy that will likely end in a bloodbath...
Read moreRotting produce, fruit fly infestations and an aggressive bag check policy makes the trek here hellish and dilemmna-producing. Should I go even though I know security is going to follow me after they try to tackle me for carrying a book bag in a city where plastic bags are banned? Even though the store is scheduled to close at 9 will it be open when I arrive at 8:30 for bananas? Will I have to swat fruit flies to get to the bananas, onions, tomatoes or potatoes? Does Save A-Lot profit from poverty and misery by adding tobacco and lottery shops inside the locations? Will the “machine” work? Will the cashier ever say hello? Will there never not be a line? How many other people got sick after buying produce from here? Is my apple rotting though I just bought the bag? Why is the peanut butter bland? How long has this spinach been sitting here. If i did not live in a food desert I would have been stopped patronizing this grocery store. All i can positively say is thanks for being open throughout the peak of the pandemic. The best thing about this Save A Lot was the Amazon lockers and cheap eggs- both long gone. This location is a lifeline to students, seniors and families but that line appears...
Read moreWow, most times when I visit this place I get some what okay service. But wow this time was horrible. Cashier Brittany obviously couldn't handle a line. She's complaining constantly about her co workers an says to a manger that one of the other employees needs to get wrote up or sent somewhere else. Ummmm excuse me Brittany but you should be wrote up or sent somewhere else. Poor service, the line was long I told the security guard I was gonna go grab something real quick, he responded ok. When I come back to the line maybe 45 seconds. Brittany says to me " you didn't tell nobody you was gone. I told her not to worry because I had time. She says oh well I don't have time. She called for a manager waited for two minutes maybe more nobody came and she proceeds to ring up my items. I guess she thought I was gonna become upset. I pray for these kinda people. Not only did she try to I convince me she held up the entire line until she calmed down a bit. I wish I could give you negative 5 stars. You were pathetic...
