Ski and Snowboard Rental at White Wolf — Local services in Banner Elk

I really don't understand all the positive reviews. I found their customer service to be horrific. I went there around 2pm to rent skiis for the following day, the cashier lady gave me all the forms for my group and told me to come back at 7pm to rent the skiis so it won't count as a 2 day rental. I came back with my group at 8pm with all our forms fully filled out, it was cold and we live about 40min away so we didn't bring our kids and even hired a baby sitter to watch them. I get to the cashier and she tells me "oh you'll need to come back tomorrow morning to rent equipment" I responded with "I was told that if I come back after 7pm that I would be able to rent today" then she says "Weeelll, usually we can but we are super busy right now" (mind you the whole place was EMPTY). I went downstairs where they fit you for skiis and all the employees are literally chatting doing nothing, I ask them "Are you guys still open down here to fit for skiis" and he says "yep", I then ask "are they still taking payments upstairs?" He says "Yes I don't see why they wouldn't" so I go back upstairs and the cashier is there doing absolutely nothing, I tell her that the guys downstairs are available to fit for equipment so can I pay for it? She says "weeellll I'm only processing online orders right now". I told her fine I'll just go to Fred's, then her boss next to her responds with "Fred's is all out". So we go to Fred's and not only were they fully stocked, they treat us like VIP's, super nice people, literally treated us like family.

This was the most awesome place!!! The people and their story just incredible. We rental 5 people all our equipment and the process was just perfect. Then we ate there and it was even better than the rental service. Food was outstanding the cook even came out asked about our stuff we complimented him on all the sauces and the food and he then brought us out some complimentary sausage and it was terrific as well. We are 5 pretty good size fellas my son actually went back and ate the same meal twice!!! Same night. Just an overall fantastic place!! The entire staff should...

This is the best place to rent your skis! The equipment and customer service is excellent. My daughter was hurt on the slope and they stepped in and helped get all our gear for 6 people returned for us. So thankful for this team!

NOTE: RENTALS end at 6 pm. They stay open till 9 or 10pm for RETURNS. But if you're like me and think you can rent at 8 pm, plan your trip better! haha Even on this note they opened the store back up and took care of us...and the next customers that came in after us, oops (granted this is very confusing)....
