AVOID IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO RUIN YOUR VACATION: My family and I take a minum of three vacations a year. So you can imagine I have had a lot of experience renting vacation homes, from the mountains to the Florida Keys. Never in the last 15 years have I dealt with anyone as rude as the office staff at Beach Mountain Chalet Rentals. To say this one lady was nasty would be an understatement. We were not the only people having issues either. When we returned our keys at the end of the week she was just as rude as when we checked in so it wasn't just a bad day. When we checked out I was not about to just lay the keys on the counter after our horrific experience at check in. So I patiently waited to turn them in and get some type of receipt as she had flat refused to give us receipt for the cash we paid for the remaining balance at check-in. So the issues at check-in had started because she refused to take a check for the remaining balance payment, even though we had paid our deposit with a check, and they had said in an email that the remaining balance was due by check or cash before or out check-in. So asking for a receipt when we had to pay the remaining balance in cash was what started her whole attitude. She asked why do you need a receipt. I explained for proof that we paid in full. She started with while you have the freaking keys that's proof enough that you paid( with a very demeaning and nasty tone, and nasty expression on her face) and then she just got nastier. She literally left us standing at the counter and walked back into some office towards the left where she proceeded to tell a woman back there, can you believe this freaking people. She just stood there in the doorway of the woman's office where we could see her but would not acknowledge us. She finally came back to the counter and said what are you going to do just take the freaking keys and leave. This place is definitely the worse rental agencies I've ever dealt with. I know this sounds bad but I at least felt a little better when we were checking out and I realized she wasn't doing it to just us. When we were checking out I literally heard her tell somebody to just take that freaking unit or leave because that's all she was going to give them and good luck finding anything else because the whole Mountain was booked. Apparently from what I overheard the people had booked a certain rental that slept eight but Beech Mountain Chalet Rentals had double booked it and so she was only offering them a unit that slept six even though they had eight people. --- The only reason i would even give them a one positive star rating is because the view from the rental was amazing....

Beech Mountain Chalet rentals are a management company that purely book rental properties (they don't own them, and they don't maintain them). They have zero say over what the units look like - or how the owners choose to treat the properties. I posted a review that was unfair towards them that should have been directed towards Pinnacle Resort HOA and the owner of condo 1205 at that HOA.
As it was explained to me (today) - Beech Mountain Chalet Rentals - book unused by owner condo's/chalet's, etc in the Beech Mountain area. Unbeknownst to us, we didn't realize that they didn't "own" these properties they act like a booking agent and rent the condo's when the owners are not using them - taking a fee for acting as the reservation agent.
I would urge you - not to rent until #1205 until they get their act together. This rental unit is at Pinnacle Inn Resort HOA. The parking lot was treacherous and not plowed. The stairs to the condo's (outside) were ice/snow covered with no attempt to clear them. I will posting a review on Pinnacle Inn Resort shortly with all the details - yes there's much more (so check it out there for more info about our negative experience).
What I can say is Tracie did a good job at Beech Mountain Chalet rentals - on getting us something booked (unfortunately, for us it was condo rental #1205, but she didn't know that), and Angie who followed up on my negative review (that should have been directed at Pinnacle Inn Resort HOA).
They genuinely seem to care about our experience and indicated that our experience should never have happened (we agree). I felt listened to, and I do feel that they are looking out the best...
Read moreWe have used this business for a few years now and it just kept getting worse and worse. We are owners of a ski unit nearby. We had a broken glass ceiling light that was there for awhile, we luckily went for a visit and discovered it. Got some song & dance about it. If their excuse was true they should've called us, but they waited until we found it. I'm glad no one was hurt. We replaced it ourselves.
They never cleaned the dryer vent, which is a fire hazard and they had guests staying there at least for a few months if not longer without a smoke alarm in the bedroom. We asked them to replace it 3 different times, they always said they would but never did. Again thank goodness, no one was hurt.
Every time we went there, we found dirty plates/pots/lids, etc. Something was always dirty and some item was missing. There was also an incident where someone was smoking in our definitive NON-SMOKING unit. They used a favorite, one of a kind, coffee cup as their ash tray and left it on the balcony in the snow for days, weeks, we don't know. It was ruined.
Our unit has a friendly sign stating it is a non-smoking and vaping unit. When I asked the office personnel if there was a clause about not smoking, they said they didn't know. How could they not know? Our guest book also stated dirty dishes and difficulty dealing with them.
The office personnel always blamed it on their cleaning staff and guests. They never apologized or tried to make things right. There was never any accountability! I wish I knew who I could complain to so they would have to be accountable to some industry regulatory agency.
