The UPS Store — Local services in Barrington Township

I recently brought a few heavy Amazon return packages to this UPS Store, and the experience was extremely frustrating. The staff told me they would not accept my returns unless I bought an extra shipping box from them, even though the items were still in the original Amazon shipping box. For one package that already had an Amazon-provided extra box, the staff said they could accept it—but only if I paid a “service fee.” When I asked what the fee was for, he said one side of the box wasn’t sealed, so he would charge me just to put tape on it.

When I asked if he could simply help me seal it, he refused. Strangely, right after that, another customer came in with a UPS package, and the staff immediately offered to lend that customer tape—free of charge. I asked why I was treated differently, and his response was: because you’re just an Amazon return customer, not a regular UPS customer.

This attitude is unacceptable. If the store doesn’t want to handle Amazon returns, they should post a clear sign saying “No Amazon Returns” instead of treating customers unfairly and trying to push unnecessary fees. The staff were unhelpful, unfriendly, and left me with a very negative impression.

I absolutely love this UPS location! I like the owner professionalism. He is very nice and extremely helpful. He is attentive to all his customers needs and has fast, trusted service. This UPS Store location is thee best, the owner isn't greedy and petty like the other locations, eager to charge customers extra charges for Amazon returning and shipments supplies. I am so grateful I recently switched to this location for all my shipping and return needs. I know that when I arrive, the owner is going to take care of all your shipping need expeditiously and not attempt to charge me extra outrageous unnecessary fees for tape, boxes, supplies etc unless absolutely necessary.

Great experience here returning several items last minute before closing. The employee here named Sagar was absolutely incredible, he went above and beyond to help me out! It was literally minutes before closing and I had 7 different items I had to return and felt so bad being “that guy” but Sagar was very professional and welcoming and didn’t make me feel bad at all. He was super polite and extremely helpful and helped me get the right box I needed to return one of my items. This guy really did an amazing job and I’m glad he was the one here who was working when I came in and not someone else....
