I hate leaving bad reviews. I bought a battery powered snow blower this morning, the transaction was fine. I was leery because the charger they gave me could only charge on battery at a time, but ok, that's what it is. I took it home, the first batter charged fine, the second battery didn't charge, no LEDs lit up, nothing. So I took the battery and the charger back. The guys did a little checking and it seemed that the charger I was leery about wasn't working. I said, "Well, can you just replace the charger" Joel, "Did you send in your warranty information?" Me, "I bought it two hours ago, no I didn't send it in yet." Joel, "Send it in because they have to send you a new charger. But we'll loan you one for $25 until you can get it." Me, "You mean you can't just give me a new charger?" Joel, "No" Me, "well how about I go to another ACE and buy one and return the one I bought here" Joel, "Yeah, you have 30 days to return it" I left, went to another ACE, and they set me up and get this, the charger was completely different. It could charge two batteries at the same time! I asked the associate, if ANYTHING goes wrong with the charger or batteries could I return them for an exchange, "yes, no problem". So I then returned the first snow blower back to Batavia. You know...retail customer...

He walked me through what I needed and gave clear, knowledgeable advice. When I came into the store, Monty was there in person to assist further. He even took the time to explain exactly how to install the parts, making the entire process so much easier for me.    Read moreI'm all about supporting local businesses over big box stores but I'm also about holding every business accountable for staff. Young man at register had a snag tonight. He was visibly upset, and that's ok. But saying "Godd&%n" in front of customers (he was also reprimanded gently by a classy gentleman more experienced in years). Also, picking up your phone and texting while you're in the middle of a sale can't be good for your future career life. I wish this young man the best and I know he will learn from some good old-fashioned acountability. I would contact store instead of post this but I don't want him to miss out on an opportunity to learn and move forward.
