Used to go here all the time and I actually worked here for 2 years. Never had a problem with it until recently. We preordered an apple pancake which takes 45 mins to cook so we wouldn't have to sit at the restaurant as long. From the get go our waitress was not very nice so we were off to a negative start. Then after waiting for a while out waitress brings out our apple pancake which was badly burnt. She said they were gonna make us a new on debut we were welcome to try to eat this one while we waited and even if we ate it were getting our second one for free. We were only able to eat the middle of the pancake since the crust was so burnt you couldn't chew it. My brother didn't even eat any of the burnt one, waiting for the new one. Our waitress then took away our burnt scraps we couldn't eat which was easily at least half of the pancake. We then asked for the bill so we could pay and leave when we got our second pancake. They brought the bill out and didn't give us a discount or anything which we thought was weird because we had to sit at the restaurant for 1 hr and 1/2 waiting for 2 pancakes and we come here all the time. When we asked our waitress if she could see if we can get a discount, she argued with us, thinking we didn't need or deserve a discount. Then the manager only gave us $1.10 off our pancake which was a joke especially since I knew the manager. When we asked to talk to the manager, the hostess came out who I also knew for years and she was outright rude and mean to my family. She said they were giving us a free pancake so we should be satisfied. When we said it's not free since it replaced the burnt one, the hostess said it was a perfectly good pancake that we could have eaten so we didn't need a second one. When we pointed to our waitress and asked her to tell her how half the pancake was on the plate she took away, she lied and said we ate the entire pancake. Then the hostess said since we come there all the time, she shouldn't have to do anything else for us which is the reverse logic of other restaurants it seems. Then she pulled me into this argument by saying how I used to work here and I said "yes so I know how people would complain about burnt toast and you guys would give them a free meal or 50% off" we weren't looking for free food, just something for our time since we wanted another hour waiting for a new pancake. Basically apple villa refused to do anything for us so we offered them back the "free" pancake because we didn't want to pay the $15 for it and they surprisingly took it back. So our brother never got to eat, our burnt food was not really replaced, and our waitress didn't return our correct change so pocketing a tip and we waited 20 mins to talk to her to get our change but she wouldn't come back so we just left. After coming here for 20 years, we will not be returning and all of my friends and work colleagues I have told this story are also not planning on returning here. Definitely...
Read morePoor customer service, even from owner. Went there to eat with family today. We had a new waitress, which we cut her some slack. The food was delivered at very different intervals so we couldn't eat completely together and we have her a coupon from my phone which she didn't take off. That is when the problems started. She asked to take my phone to show the coupon to someone, which again, since she was new I said OK. I watched her because I didn't feel entirely comfortable with this. She brought it to someone else and they appeared to be using my phone. So I walked over and they told me that they were emailing the coupon to their headquarters. I told them that they were wrong for doing this without my permission. Nowhere on the email did it say you have to print the coupon or they would email it. Instead of saying sorry that they were wrong for doing this, they began to justify they were right. There were several employees disagreeing with me on this basically saying it was a policy and not acknowledging that they were using my phone without my permission. One of the owners then jumped in to back them up. Apparently, agreeing to show someone your phone means they can use it. This situation escalated because I trusted that this waitress was going to "show" the phone and I said they were wrong for using my data and my email without my permission. Again, the owner saw no issue with this and continued to complain about me after I walked away from the situation that I could hear him across the restaurant. I will never go back here given their attitude. Lack of respect of customers like this is inappropriate as well as staff ganging up on a customer when a simple apology was in order. I have had my identity stolen before and feel this lack of respect of privacy...
Read moreThis would be a zero star review if that were an option. Let's see--where to start. Ordered the Southwest Omelette. The item delivered wasn't what was listed on the menu. Requested hot sauce was only finally delivered once we were halfway thru the meal. The corned beef skillet had so little corned beef that it was hard to find. It also said choice of cheese--didn't say on the menu that the cheese would be an additional $3 charge--we only found out when we got the receipt after paying. We asked for a variety of jelly for the toast--got 4 tiny cups, all filled with the exact same jelly. Hash browns came out lukewarm at best. Coffee service was all of one refill. One of the server staff could tell we were upset and tried to make up by giving us a comp. frozen apple pancake, but the Manager who came over to the table when I didn't find the salsa that was promised with my SW omelette could have cared less, and only offered a $2 discount for the missing salsa. We had tried Apple Villa a few times before with disappointing experiences. Glad to see they haven't changed. We will not be coming back here or any other A.V. location. If this is what they think of, and how they have concern of their customers, and how they conduct business, I'm surprised they're still in business. They won't get any more of ours. I'm not saying the food tasted bad, but a $2 discount for such a poor dining experience is actually an insult when so much went wrong. Stay away. And Apple Villa, IF you read this--don't bother to reach out, don't bother to offer to "make up for" this. I don't plan on ever stepping back inside your premises--the experience for both of us was THAT...
