Pitter Patter Inc. — Local services in Bath

I've lived downtown for over 10 years. Worst place that I've ever had an experience from, Pitter Patter. Here's what happened, this is from my other half and the experience that we had with my daughter and boots that we bought...

Looking for honest opinions here as I was thoroughly disappointed in a local business today! I recently walked around town with my 23month old whom needed some boots but we had a very difficult time finding ones in her size, after multiple try ons we finally found a pair but low and behold even on clearance they're 42$.....I cave and buy them anyway after a not so happy toddler is done and I love to support local so truly dont mind the small markup. I go outside and immediately notice a color difference in the light of day so I bring my very upset toddler back into the store to point out I hadn't noticed the difference but was concerned why the difference I was told they're supposed to be color changing but one will not adjust I said okay thank you they're a lot of money for tiny boots just wanted to make sure. When we get home I notice it isn't due to color changing they're worn from sun exposure and an area on the boot is separating from seam and cracks so they won't last long at all just difficult to notice. NOT COLOR CHANGING at all.....I go for an exchange or even store credit and was told the only thing they would do is 20% off and brand new pair. Not the 42 spent.....I just left very disappointed and sadly won't...

Thoroughly disappointed with their customer service! I always support local! It's important in a small community to keep local businesses thriving! That being said after my experience I will NEVER shop their again! Mislead on why something was on clearance by a blatant lie when realized they are sun worn and going to be insufficient they wouldn't do a return for even store credit! This was an absolutely amazing experience! I was stressed because I didn't know the gender and the party was 2 days away! I walked in, and they immediately recognized my angst and did the most amazing job setting me up with the cutest outfit and accessories, I picked out a book to go along and they sent me off to do the rest of my errands while they WRAPPED my gift too!!
