Feb. 18, 2023 - Occasionally good Thai is preferred from Lobster rolls & fish chowdha. . . We enjoyed Best Thai II with friends on a cold winter night. The owners have two locations, one in Damariscotta, we ate at their Bath restaurant (started 11 years ago). It’s a small place, maybe 5 tables. Seemed like a fair amount of “carry-out” business, with 1 chef working the kitchen, and 1 person handling all the front end clients & serving tables. Our party of four was seated at the window, which I enjoy watching people and town lights sparkle at night! Menus, drinks, and food ordering was very relaxed, no rush , gave us time to “ catch up” with our friends. In Maine it’s best to chill . . . (sip your “drink” ) most places are under-staffed. We ordered several appetizers, as the restaurant filled up ! I liked the shrimp yum soup, with a “ kick” of spice! Over time our entrees arrived. . . Our friends loved their Basil Chicken , and Ginger Crispy Fish! Two of us ordered Mango Crispy Chicken which was delicious! Not as spicy as as I hoped, but very good! Over all a good meal, and would rate this a positive 4.5 experience! Thai food we tried seemed a fusion of Chinese style sauce with Thai ingredients. That’s fine! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Fun Thai Food Facts 😃 +French 1, Italian 2, Chinese 3, Thai 4 FOOD +23% Millennials eat Thai food regularly +Thai Express largest Franchise - over 300 (Canada & United States started 2004) +Nam Pla, common in Thai ( fish sauce) +Thai food lightly cooked +Thai food uses herbs & spices , curries +Thai food uses chili 🌶️ paste, soy sauces +Gastrodiplomacy. . . FIVE STARS. We love the perfect portion sizes of the dishes (not too big and overwhelming) and very good quality food and very affordable. We love the drunken noodles (we ordered mild spice) and fresh summer rolls! But everything we got was so good, like the Tom yum kung soup, wonton soup, wontons and rice. There's 3 of us, and we are all full and with happy tummies. Love this place. Will come back! 💖

Great experience, friendly staff and good food. The Pad Thai I had was perfect in flavor and spiciness. I enjoyed what I ordered and was grateful for the portion size for the price.I would highly reccomend them, with easy to order and use of online as well as calling ahead as needed.

Tried to get in on Monday, not open. I don't get it, so many places around here are closed on Mondays. two other people tried to get in in the short time I was there. Tuesday tried to get in, closed again, only this time they are closed for an hour, 3-4 in the middle of the day.

The place must do a big takeout service because it is all geared that way but I ate in. The crab Rangoon was fantastic. Never had some that good. When I asked for a house fried rice I was asked what I wanted in it. I didn't think I heard her right but she repeated it. I said whatever they usually put in it, everything. Apparently you have to order shrimp or pork or whatever else they offer. Never ran across this before and I order house fried rice everywhere I go and it has just about everything in the HOUSE in it.

The food is really good just too complicated to get in and...

Horrible service beyond bad. Ordered take out on later end of business day. Apparently someone didn’t rike that. Old woman was extremely rude towards my fiancée over phone, interrupted her multiple times and had to be corrected. Wouldn’t respond when we asked what time they closed. I walked in 5 minutes before close and she turned her back at me and scoffed walking towards my food. Which smelled like cat sick. When I got home we found they intentionally left out orders of rice. Entree was also supposed to include rice but was instead a nasty soup including things not listed in description. I deserve full refund and want to be contacted by owner. Lowest least professional restaurant experience I’ve ever been disserviced with. Would get remake but your food was mids at best even if you hadn’t treated us like trash and left out half our...
