Baton Rouge, LA‼️📍great place to be a kid with da kids! 😎🎉 #batonrouge #mainevent #arcade #batonrougelouisiana #fyp
Hyper RSHHyper RSH
Summary: An awesome fun place to hang out and have fun. I love coming here when I come to Baton Rouge. This facility includes Bowling Lanes, Arcade (card system), a Restaurant, Laser Tag, and an elevated Jungle Gym (harnessed) —◈— Lengthy review: Growing up going to Arcades and going bowling has been a big part of my life. Main Event does a good job at incorporating that a other activities well Arcade: ★★★☆☆ Lots of games, but every one is aimed for earning tickets. I'm not too into earning tickets because it ruins the fun of playing the game itself. But they had a lot that were fun to compete with friends. Prize shop is overated but if you're a good gamer or wins some Jackpots you can earn something cool Bowling: ★★★★☆ About 20ish lanes available with plenty of Balls. Automatic bumbers make Skill Issue not a problem. They even have tables for your food and drinks Food: ★★★★☆ The food looked and tasted really good. My only complaint being the price and service, but besides that, if you want a snack or a meal this place has good variety. Menu is themed as a usual American Party style pallete of Burgers, Fries, Wings, Pizza, etc Service: ★★☆☆☆ The line took a long time to burn down, food took a long time to arrive, and trying to get an order also took awhile. I don't think it's laziness, I genuinely believe it's just short staffed. But everyone looked like they were working hard and were very nice Expense: ~$20 minimum One thing I like about main Event is how you can chose what you wanna do and pay accordingly. If you want to just play the Arcade then you can put as many points on your Play card as you want. And if you want to just eat food you can do that too. The only problem comes with Bowling, Laser Tag, and the Jungle Gym. Bowling by itself, for only a few games, is $30. And Laser Tag and Jungle Gym is almost half that. However, you can pay for a Day Pass that allows you to do all 3, and have Unlimited Bowling games, for ~$28. So wanting to bowl is gonna cost you a lot, but at least you have Unlimited games

Our visit to Main Event at the Mall of Louisiana proved to be a fantastic evening filled with diverse activities. Opting for the unlimited bowling play pass, we not only enjoyed the game but also had an unexpectedly satisfying workout. The laser tag game and gravity ropes added an exciting twist to our experience, ensuring a memorable time. The venue caters well to both kids and adults, boasting a kid-friendly atmosphere alongside a designated bar area for adults seeking a more relaxed setting. The variety of food options in the restaurant adds to the overall appeal, although it's advisable to order promptly to manage potential wait times. While our visit on a less busy night resulted in reasonable wait times, it's wise to be cautious on busier evenings. Main Event offers an array of entertaining games for all age groups, making it an ideal venue for families. The two-story laser tag space is particularly noteworthy for large groups, enhancing the overall experience. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the gravity ropes provide an exhilarating above-ground walking experience. Overall, Main Event at the Mall of Louisiana is a commendable choice for a fun-filled outing catering to the varied preferences of both kids and adults.

Scammy Ripoff and the WORST outing I have had in my life. We purchased an hour of bowling, then separately purchased wristbands for our children to be able to play on the gravity ropes and laser tag for the night. It was $50 for two wristbands. One child was only interested in laser tag. The other child, who happens to be autistic, was super excited to try out the gravity ropes. We finished our bowling hour around 7 pm.

Firstly, we were not even able to finish ONE game of bowling in the hour. Our lane had multiple issues, where associates had to move pins, or reset our lane... one of which walked down the lane itself, rather than on the side (ruining the coating which is supposed to be smooth for a good bowl). In addition to all the technical issues on our lane slowing us down, we also never saw a single waiter/server. A manager, came by saying that a server would come, but they never did. We had to go to a separate area to order drinks, which also slowed down our game (when one player was waiting for the order for about 10 mintues)

The kids weren't too bothered by not being able to finish a game, but every other venue I've bowled at you play a full game, rather than having the upsell option when your time somehow runs out prematurely.

Then, we headed to try out the highlight of the kids' night... gravity ropes and laser tag. However, when we walked over there, the gravity ropes were not being manned by any employee, so there was no access for the kids despite the wristbands we purchased. So, one of the parents in our group went to inquire and was told (at around 7:30 pm), that no one would be able to man this activity until 8:30 pm.

I was not satisfied with this answer, since the wristband is supposed to last for your visit, not for a portion thereof, after the kids are already tired or bored. I went to speak to the manager that greeted us before, and she said she would send someone.

By 7:40, no one had come.

The other parent tried to bring the boys to Laser Tag while we waited for the ropes... but lo and behold-- NO ONE was manning this either! So, we couldn't do either activity the wristbands were purchased for. At this point, my child with autism was already in tears on the floor, and we were all mentally exhausted from this bait and switch. The only thing available was the arcade.. which must be the real moneymaker for Main Event.

So, we went to the desk for a refund hoping to leave and salvage the rest of our night, and the sanity of our kids. Here's where it got even worse: the manager told us they do not refund wristbands as a matter of policy. We then had to argue the fact that we were not able to use them for anything they were good for, and we wanted to leave and get our money back. Meanwhile, my 10 year old with autism is in full meltdown, crying and screaming on the floor, inconsolable as her one activity was ruined. My other special needs child, a three year old, was trying to run away, as he was also overwhelmed at this point.

Another manager was called over(Tim) who noticed I was filming and asked me to put my phone away as he did not want to be on camera. I obliged him, since he refused to discuss a refund until I stopped filming.

He then proceeded to say that since we bowled, we used our wristbands. Fortuitously, we had purchased the wristbands separately from our bowling. He then argued that we didn't have our receipts (which were not given to us). He finally argued that one must make reservations to use laser tag or gravity ropes. He then left to go serve drinks at the bar, and had the other manager and an associate search the trash for our receipts- they did find them crumpled in there!

The original manager then apologized, issued our refunds, and stated that she had not even been trained how to issue refunds as they do not normally allow them. We were able to leave roughly 20 MINUTES from originally requesting refunds. (reminiscent of a shady car dealer that leaves you waiting as a negotiation technique)

Good riddance. I hope I can help someone avoid a catastrophe...

If i could give ZERO stars I WOULD!

I am currently on hold trying to reach the corporate offices for the 5th time today. I attended main event in Baton Rouge, Louisiana over the weekend for my 27th birthday celebration and had a terrible experience. I have gone to main event since I was a child, I’m from Houston, Texas and we have a few locations there. I was EXTREMELY disappointed to experience the manager (Sydney) accusing myself and my classmates of being “liars” and misrepresenting the truth. We waited 3 1/2 hours just to finish eating thus, we were unable to play games during our visit. The manager promised that she would compensate us by giving us (after i had to ask her how they could make the experience better) free game of laser tag. About 15 minutes after she made the comment, she saw me alone at the bar, approached me and said “i decided im only approving laser tag for you since it’s your birthday. Not the whole group” I simply said okay & walked to the front and asked for another manager who then overrode her & said he’d honor the laser tag accommodation. We were there for about 3 hours at that time. We arrived at 9 pm.

After talking to the other manager who said he’d honor what sydney originally said, she then returned to the front of the store and stated that she refused to honor what the male manager said and proceeded to accuse myself and my classmates of being liars and “trying to just get something for free” in front of numerous customers and the other two managers.

I am disgusted by her inference that we are simply trying to get something for free when she is the one who promised that she would honor a round of laser tag since there was so much confusion and difficulty separating our tabs after we ate. she proceeded to flash her name tag in my face which read “Sydney”. I informed her that I would reach out to the corporate offices and her reply was “do it.” She claimed that another manager told her she was not allowed to honor the game of laser tag and that she “never told us that.” Once i asked for the manager to be called who said she was not allowed to honor the hour of laser tag, the manager came to the front and explained she had no idea what happened.

Sydney also proceeded to put her hand in my face and direct me to “stop talking to her and let her speak.” Should Sydeny deny this encounter, i hope you all check cameras. She is unfit for a managerial position & Main Event needs to be responsible for this reprehensible conduct. I have called corporate 5 times with no answer, messaged you all on instagram and twitter with no reply. Thankfully I’m a budding lawyer and won’t stop until something is said or done.

I do not want this to happen someone else. I would like to speak with someone about...

Ive been to this Main event location only about 3 times. This time was so bad that I HAD to write a review. Now granted at the time of my review it was Mardi Gras. I’m only saying that because it was not busy at all and it played a part in the service I received today. For the good parts: Sidney the bar service manager was so sweet and Kind and also Josh(I think he’s a server as well) were the best part of my experience today. They both were excellent. The food was so good. I had the fried pickles( which I try at every place that has them in the menu) and it came with jalapeño ranch which was chefs kiss! I also had the garlic Parmesan wings which did what they needed to do.

Now to the not so good, almost terrible experience. The arcade part of it was laughable. About 30% of the games didn’t work, like take your credits but won’t turn on work and another 20% of them didn’t function properly. My and my children played almost all of the claw machine games and only 2 worked how they were supposed to. Others just stopped working halfway during the game, didnt function at all, or didn’t function properly. When I bought it up to the first person at the front desk she said to take it to the winners circle area and they’ll comp me some credits. (I did load up my cards for $51 game credits and $25 game credits). I caught the manager as I was walking to the winners circle and was explaining to him and he said to meet him at the winners circle but never showed. The guy working in the winners circle did say I’ll comp you 95 credits which I thought was fair. But after leaving I notice on the Main event app he only comped 80. Ok. We went to eat after all of that and waited at the hostess thing for a good 15 mins before being told to find somewhere to sit and a host/waiter would be with us. After sitting down at the table for 20 mins someone came and asked did we order and said that we needed to go order at the bar. There were maybe 3 people working the dining area part so all the guests eating all had to order at the bar. What’s the point of table service if I have to get up and order at the bar every time I want a new drink/app or desert. All in all I definitely wasted a lot of money to play games that really did not work and the sad part was they knew that most games weren’t working. It’s sad because with Dave& busters being all the way in New Orleans this is the only place of its kind in...
