This is usually my go to place each time I visit the mall. I got hooked years ago because one of the workers offered me a free gummy bear. I have always been a gummy bear lover so naturally the great selection of gummy bears in this store gave me reason to come back again and again. I also discovered their all chocolate section which has also been of favorite of mine to visit. I have pretty much sampled just about everything in the store, but this visit was horrible in that I walked out of the store without as much as a candy stick because of the way I was treated at the register. No, the worker was not overly rude but she was just void of expression or consideration when I mentioned that I normally have my punch card (which would suggest that I am a regular) but that today I did not have it. She never took the time to stop ringing up my purchase. Once she completed my purchase, she mentioned that there was now a loyalty program in which you have to register for in order to get points. That's all she said and pointed to the sign when I expressed my displeasure over having to sign up into a loyalty system after being a faithful customer for years. I'm talking every holiday, each visit to the mall, and even when people visit me from out of town, I always take them to this store and it becomes a tradition for them to visit the store and purchase sweets. I even stop in before seeing a movie or after having dinner. My family has a serious sweet tooth! Well this employee basically told me that the money that I spent today would not be counted toward any loyalty points but that on my next visit it would count. Now, I am not a genius on store policy but I know enough to know that any time there is a question about a loyalty program an employee is supposed to have enough information to guide you through the process. After expressing adamantly that I wanted my points she did offer to stop and register me in the system but also said again that my purchase today would not count toward any loyalty points. I asked to speak to a manager because that seemed to be unfair. After all, I was getting ready to drop $15 on two little bags of candy which is overpriced already, but that's the price you pay when you visit a gourmet candy shop. The manager, or the guy that she said was the manager, came over and expressed a little bit more concern and then offered to have another person to come from the back and void the transaction and and re-ring it up so that I could get my points on the loyalty program. I feel this should have been offered in the beginning. I don't understand why they employee did not take the initiative to offer that, but she didn't. The whole time her face was blank. By the time the other person came to void the transaction, I no longer had a desire to repurchase anything. I simply wanted to leave. I do not feel valued as a customer after patronizing this store and spending tons of money over the years. I think the employees need to be educated that each customer deserves to know about the loyalty program. I also got increasingly angry when a person right next to me was offered a loyalty program and offered bonuses for signing up. I think that's unfair and I am severely disappointed with Lolli and Pop and I think you've just lost one of your...
Read moreI went to this store for the first time yesterday to purchase Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. (We were wanting single flavors and not the prepackaged mixed flavors.) They didn’t have a large selection and a few flavors were out of stock/empty. Luckily, they had a couple of the flavors we wanted so I asked the clerk the price. I was told $4 per 1/4 lb. (Which is pretty steep and overpriced compared to other places) I went ahead and decided to splurge and carefully measured and weighed the bags containing our desired flavors. I put between 4-5 ounces per bag and grabbed 3 other $2 items and went to check out. I expected my total to be around $30 with tax. The clerk mumbled the total and I thought she said $30.08 so I handed her my card and she swiped it. She handed me the receipt and out of habit i glanced over and immediately saw that my total was $38 and change. Alarmed at the total I looked closer and discovered I had been charged for 2 lbs of jelly beans. I knew I had been very mindful of each bags weight because the cost was already significantly higher , so I knew I didn’t have 2lbs. I turned around and walked back to the counter and asked the clerk why I was charged for 2 lbs…she was polite at first. She told me that was how much they weighed….I told her that I was certain something wasn’t accurate because I had used the scale to measure/weigh before I checked out. I asked her to please weigh then again. As she weighed each back I wrote down the weights. They 4 bags added up to right at 20 ounces…1.25 lbs. I showed her the total and showed the receipt that said 2lbs. She said Maybe they had changed the price. I told her I wasn’t ok with that and would like to return them since I had not even left the store with the merchandise yet. She called her supervisor on the phone and re-weighed everything and had a very brief convo…she hung up and and told me that there wasn’t really anything else she could do. I told her that I was not ok with that…that the math simply didn’t match. She started to get annoyed at this point…but well…I just don’t think I should be charged for something that I didn’t get. I asked if she would come back to the scale with me to re-weigh again. She told me she guessed she could weigh them on the other register but it was really not gonna change anything. Even though the weights didn’t equal what i was being charged for on the receipt. Upon re-ringing and weighing everything on the other register she discovered that the total was right at $30. Still extremely high. But anyway…she said she guessed she could refund the $ that I was overcharged and begrudgingly processed a refund for the mistake…(still no evidence of a refund has come through….hopefully it will) I probably wouldn’t have left this review…but that combined with the discovery that all of the over priced jelly beans were extremely hard and stale. At that price…the jelly beans really should be so fresh that they practically melt in your mouth…I have never had jelly belly jelly beans that were this...
Read moreAUSTIN was very hostile with my wife, AND OMID followed us threw the store while eating candy.
My wife was so excited to go, and look for a candy she had as a child. We called NINE TIMES! We made it to the store at 5:35 no one was there and we decided to call the phone in the store to see if it worked and it DID! THEY DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE WHILE WE CALLED IN THE STORE. So my wife decided to look for her lolli pop and OMID was in the back of the store taking candy out of the draw and eating it. The lolli pop my wife was looking for was not there so I asked Austin if he knows when it would get restocked, he said no and brushed me off. My wife decided to ask for the Manager nameas well as the store number just to see if we called the wrong number, and Austin got definsive and started telling her "He won't know either" "Is it about me?" "What is it in regards to" and "The number to the store is on Google". At this point I told Austin to just give her the name. I decided to ask Austin for the number so I can inform the manager of our visit and he told me no. So I told her I it's ok I'll inform him one way or another Omid had to hold Austin back to keep him calm to stop him from getting overly aggressive with my wife. We decided that it would be smart to leave...
