went today with my friend, I was looking for a Christmas gift, and I don't know much about games and gaming stuff so I am very intimidated by things that are new to me. I went in to look for an Xbox SD card for more storage for an Xbox. and went to ask the boy "do you have Xbox SD cards?" he didn't reply and instead look at me stupidly. I got nervous... and said "like storage cards for Xbox console..." he then takes me to the Xbox area and shows me a $199 SD card. I kindly asked him if they have anything cheaper and that I didn't need that much storage and he proceeds to reply rudely "I don't know". I then say "It's okay, I'll just check online." to end the conversation. He then adds really meanly... "well I don't even know if we have any online... I am not checking there stalking our website to see if we have it. i don't have time for that." I was just in shock because i wasn't asking him if his store had it online or to check for me. i said that I will look for myself. Again i don't know much about gaming and thought GameStop would help me find what i need. apparently not. overall, extremely rude, snarky, and...
Read moreI ordered the wrong Xbox for my son for Christmas. The game stop that sent it to us was located in Grapevine, tx. They sent us an Xbox one S. I needed the series s. I didn't know... But we messed up and didn't open the box until Christmas eve.
The one they sent looked like someone had opened a coke and poured it all over the console and then threw it down the stairs. It was scratched, dented, sticky, and something made a noise when you would picked it up. Like there was something loose in it. It looked like something you'd order off of Wish.
We were understandably upset. My son was so broken hearted when his only gift on Christmas was trashed.
I took it to my local Baytown location the day after Christmas, today.
The lady let me exchange it for a series s and was more upset about the condition than I was. I had cleaned it up too!
She was so nice and helpful.
Thanks...
Read moreThe guys that work here are the absolute best! I have been in twice recently with my 10 year old son. The first day, my son had a budget and couldn’t decide what to get within his budget. The guy working there had so much patience and really helped my son make a darn decision! We went back a couple of days later so he could get a Pokémon character. My son couldn’t decide which one to get, so the guy working there made a little game out of it. He told my son to pick a number and they assigned a number to each character. He “spun the wheel” on his phone. My son had to get whatever number was picked. I said all of that to say that I really appreciate them interacting with my son and not just taking his money as he made the transaction. I don’t see that a lot of the time these days and these guys deserve a shoutout. Unfortunately, I didn’t get their names...
