Found a truck I liked. No problem. Great credit, check. Positive equity on a trade in, check. Test drive, check. Now, here's where things go sideways...I told salesman I wanted to test drive a similarly equipped Chevy at a different dealer to compare the ride difference but told him I was leaning towards GMC. (Comparing Canyon Denali to Colorado ZR2 which really didn't seem too unreasonable) That was before they told me what I could expect on my trade in. Big mistake. After 40 minutes of "figuring out what my trade was worth" my salesman said his boss WOULDN'T give me a trade in price because he "didn't want me to shop the price at a different dealer"(actual quote) Seriously? So...I CAN'T price compare? They then asked which Chevy dealer I was going too. Have to wonder if that would have been followed up with a call to THAT dealer. Hmm, maybe a little price fixing? Well, went to Serpentini not Ganley like I told them and bought the $46,000 ZR2. Jay lost a nice easy sale due to some lazy, shady and shortsighted business practices. Will never go back and will actively advise others to stay away. UPDATE...it took 6 months to investigate? Update #2...looks like Jay took back their half hearted attempt at pacifying me. I still stand by my review. I've been going to Serpentini for 3 years and couldn't be happier!* Update #3 I've had the ZR2 for 4 1/2 years and still VERY happy I steered CLEAR of Jay! I've been treated so well at Serpentini that I'm definitely sticking with them on my next $65000 to $80000 purchase. Getting close to losing over $120,000.00 in sales...Jay. 8-9-22 *UPDATE 4 Still have the ZR2! What a great vehicle! Nothing major to report. Would scrap it and walk everywhere before going to Jay for a new vehicle or even service. Just saying. I don't care for liars. They can try and spin it if they would like. You can check all my reviews as well...I'm not THAT guy that blows over nothing. Now we're looking at replacing my wife's Ford for a Buick Envision. I'd crawl to another state before going to Jay. That would equate to around a net sales loss close to $150,000 and counting. Possibly more if I've been lucky enough to sway even 1 unsuspecting person away. Stay tuned...I will.UPDATE 6/28/24 Talked my wife out of a Buick and into a Subaru! Pretty much across the street from Jay too. Another $35,000 lost in sales. All from DISHONEST SALES PRACTICES. I added the pic of the Subaru. Note the ZR2 still there like a champ! Update 6-28-25 Highly recommend the Subaru over the Buick! But if you really want a Buick, find a better place than Jay. BTW, ZR2, is still going strong with FANTASTIC service from Walberg Chevy (Strongsville was fine but Walberg was more convenient). Im sure the GMC would have been a solid choice it's just the underhanded shady stealership if Jay Buick GMC that steered me clear. BUYERS...
Read moreI'm super late sending this review. Sorry about that GMC. Anyway, I leased my first car, a 2016 Buick Verano, back in May and I still remember my experience very well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The person who sold my car, Matthew S., was super nice and eager. And he's a Star Trek fan, so that made him likeable.
The process (setting up the lease, payment, checking my credit, etc) was simple. It took some time but i liked that it was all handled at the lot. My only complaint is the follow-up calls that came after I got my car, particularly the calls asking me for more info. The first day after receiving my car, I get a call asking for a copy of my sisters driver's license for whatever reason. I think "okay, that's fine. They need it and I want to turn it in as soon as possible." I'm at work though, so I ask if I can send via email or text. Im told that I can do that, I text my sister to send me a copy of her license, and I forward it. That was okay. I was fine with it. On the second day, I get another asking for my mothers license because shes on my insurance and whatever. I tell them I have to wait until I get home because, once again, I'm at work. I'll send it after work. I do that and I get another call the next day asking for more information while I'm at work. This happens for the whole week.
Look this is my first time leasing a car, I don't know if this is the standard. I totally get it, though. Sometimes, you don't get everything you need the first time. Sometimes, things pop up that you don't realize you need. But you can at least take the time to sit and figure out all that you need and then call up the customer. It would have taken a second to compile a list of the few extra info that they did need from me and send it my way, saying "Oh, Ashley. We need some extra info. Can you send this stuff by tomorrow?" I would have gladly done it. The fact that I received multiple calls at work also added to my irritation. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth the first week and, as the first time leasing a car, a little fear. What if the info I sent affected my keeping the car? It didn't feel make me feel good. Please just get your info sooner and only contact me when my car needs service.
I'm over it now, though, but I wanted to get that out there. Overall, my experience in picking out my car and signing for it was great. I liked Matthew's energy and professionalism. He helped me set up my car. Everything went well for the most part. I love the car and I like that Jay Buick offers their services even after purchasing the car. It's gorgeous by the way, an incredibly smooth ride and worth the car note. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, but be sure that your car dealer let's you know exactly what info they need or bring it...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of yours for over ten years now. This is my 4th vehicle from Jay Buick GMC. Michael Croom has been a consistent and professional sales professional. I like my new Canyon Truck. I do have a question. I do take it personally that it appears that the sales manager did not give me an adequate or ethical evaluation of my 2019 Buick Envision. I only had approximately 18,900 miles on it. I have had it for three years. His explanation affronted me that the body style had changed. My wife and I went on several sites, and that model of Envision appraised for no less than $32K. Essentially, I feel that my Envision was an unwilling donation to have an appraisal on the paperwork of ($ -701). The perceived intentional undervaluing of the vehicle only your dealership serviced was surprising. Moreover, I have never been treated less than stellar at your dealership. I even switched my mother-in-law over to your dealership, and she has a 2019Encore. I am not so sure about my wife coming, as this incensed her. It was not explained how the Enclave I test drove, which was priced similarly; the financing was $200 more monthly. I wanted the Enclave, but the difference in the payment was astronomical. I am not sure why the cost of the Denali Canyon and the Enclave were mathematically similar, but the monthly payments had so much incongruence. I can say that I am unhappy by the attack on my intelligence by the sales manager with the statement, “The Model Changed.” The sales manager appeared not to be forthcoming about what happened. I am not a car salesperson, but models change all the time. I am also operating under the assertion that this email may not be read. Therefore, I will send a copy through the mail. I feel as if I was taken advantage of on the assessment of my 2019...
