Allen's Food Market — Local services in Bella Vista

All of the good reviews are right on the money! We moved to Bella Vista from Austin Texas a year ago and this has been our go to grocery store. Granted, I miss the mega grocery store HEB, but Allen's has a small town grocery store feel that can't be beat. Their friendly staff and uncrowded aisles are worth a trip just to :check them out". Unlike Walmart, where shelves are empty due to their on line pick up service which consists of pick up service employees blocking aisle with their carts and picking through all the items until the shelves are practically bare, Allen's has a great selection of hard to find items at reasonable prices. Granted, some items don't compare in cost vs Walmart, but we aren't talking outrageous prices like Harps. Several items are actually cheaper than Walmart and their specials displayed at the front when you walk in are unbeatable and worth the trip for those alone. For example, where can you get a full pound of GOOD bacon for 3.99? Only Allen's. Their vegetable and fruit section has FRESH vegetables, many from small area growers. This is one of the few places where I can find serrano peppers. If you can't find a particular item, they go out of their way to order it for you, or at least try to order it. Every employee I have dealt with here has been outstanding and very friendly. I love shopping at this store and encourage everyone to give this store a try and see what stress free grocery shopping feels like. I guarantee you won't be driving around the parking lot for 20 minutes trying to find a place to park.

Allen's continues to outperform any grocery store in the area. I used to buy a special cheese from their deli (Habanero Ghost Pepper) until they stopped carrying it. The deli personnel said they could no longer get it, but if anyone could get it, Linda, who orders deli products might be able to find it. I contacted Linda, and she promised me she would try to get it back. Lo and behold, a week later, true to her word, Allen's had the cheese again. Special call out to Linda!! I love...

I like the convenience of the grocery store and love their variety of great products. But, you really must watch the product expiration dates. I've accidentally purchased expired products numerous times from this store. One time I found a package of plant based cheese that was completely moldy and turned it in-an employee should have seen that way before a customer had to turn it in. One time I saw a jar of clotted cream that should have been in a refrigerated section... I brought it to the attention of an employee and she just put it back on the shelf. I know it should be refrigerated because I buy it in the refrigerated section of another specialty market in Rogers. It remained on the shelf for about three weeks unrefrigerated at Allen's. Yesterday I tried to select snack mozerella out of the cheese bunker but all three packages expired in May or June (over a month ago). I once purchased and accidentally drank expired milk from here. I had the worst food poisoning from it. They just need to do a much better job managing the stock and checking expiration dates and...

Top rate customer service! So genuinely friendly, they ALWAYS insist on helping you take your groceries out to your car. Amazing butcher department and the Deli always has fun daily specials on meats and cheese. They even give you ideas what to make for dinner as they put their meat specials in the front entry- refrigerated like on pot roast Day they actually have one cooking in a crock pot as you walk in. They have gourmet, or standard ingredients competitively priced and if they don't have it they offer to start carrying it. Their health food section is now a huge section of their store, very well organized and stocked on top trending diets. The entire store is very well stocked and merchandised. You can enter into a drawing every time you shop for cash winnings- just as if you are playing bingo! They sometimes make fun little jokes or announcements on the overhead. It's the friendliness of a small local store but has most everything you need! Great management. I always enjoy my daily trips...
