While the facility is fun for kids on the spectrum (who it is advertised to), it is not 100% safe. There is an unlocked door in the back of the play area that does not have an alarm or any indication of it opening.
I write this as a warning, as my non-verbal son eloped through this door while my wife was caring for my 2 year old daughter. It was terrifying, but until that door is either locked or alarmed the area is not safe to let your guard down as a parent or to turn your attention elsewhere for even a moment.
Edit - The owner has reached out to my wife, not me, about their intention to reply to this review. I am leaving this review up because attention does lapse, and there should absolutely be a warning to parents that this door is there, as well as an alarm that can be heard over the sounds of play. After all, if an alarm cannot be heard and doesn't alert anyone it may as well not exist.
Edit 2 (In response) - Completely understand everything you said, but I am making a clear warning about a safety deficit at the facility. This is not personal, it is about making parents of children who elope aware of a potential hazard.
My recommendation is updating the alarm to be able to be heard above the sounds of play, which in your email to my wife you noted that the alarm currently in place cannot be heard.
The staff was great, this is not slander, it is a note on a safety issue at the play area. Do you not want parents of non-verbal children to be informed?
I'd also like to take a moment to defend my wife, as you seem intent on making this seem like she simply wasn't paying attention. She searched the facility for several minutes before you were called, 6 minutes between when he left your unlocked, minimally alarmed door, and you got a phone call from your team.
I do not think We Rock the Spectrum employees should watch the children, however if there is a safety concern it should be made public. This is not slander, your feelings about what people think about the unlocked door are not...
Read moreSuch a wonderful place for indoor play dates to escape the heat! The space gives great options for big play with trampoline, zip line swing, and climbing walls, but also a lot of creative play spaces, sensory play, and even a calming room if your kiddo enjoys quiet spaces!
You can bring in small snacks for the kids as long as they donât eat in the play area and of course clean up after yourself.
Itâs very easy to get to and plenty of parking. The staff is very kind and they help other keep the play areas organized throughout the day.
They truly do welcome all kids to play which is so wonderful to see! We have also been here for a birthday party and itâs very nice because you get to rent the whole space for your party and no specifications to pay for food. You get to be in charge of what you bring. They have a small space to set up cake/food and...
Read moreMy daughter absolutely loves this place! It has so many fun things to do! My daughter is 7 and she is not on the spectrum, however, there are many different kinds of children there every time we go and it is a great place for everyone!
I homeschool her and I love that they are open great hours, they have an amazing facility. There's an art station, chalk boards, swings, a toy kitchen, etc. For kids that are on the spectrum (like many of my friends) there is a supportive, calm environment. The owner is super nice and I've had a good experience with all the employees!
My daughter also loves Wonderwild and Kid's Empire, but she has told me this place is her favorite among the 3, and IT'S ALSO CHEAPER!!!
I highly recommend this venue for any kids, and there is something here...
