=== Update 11/14/2018 === OK, I hate keep changing the rating but moving out experience was again disappointing.
For some reason, they charge for full month regardless of move out date. I didn't even think about this possibility so I decided to move out on the 3rd of the month, then realized that I was charged for the full month and they wouldn't credit me back the remaining days. I can't think of any rational reason for this policy except for it trying to rip off customers who didn't read the agreement carefully or who have no other choice but moving out at the beginning of a month.
This policy makes no sense. If I move in on the 1st and move out on the 2nd, then I'll be charged for two days plus one-time fees; but if I move in 31st and move out next day on 1st, then I'll need to pay one month plus one day plus one-time fees? In both scenarios, I'm renting the same two days, just because my move-in and move-out date are at different positions in a calendar month, the difference in charge could be as much as a full month? This makes totally no sense.
I did not read the agreement carefully and assumed that this highly-rated business won't put anything out of ordinary rationality into it.
The property manager at this location was courtesy and was trying to be helpful, but she couldn't do anything about it.
I don't know why this business gets such a high rating on Yelp. Probably because the staff here are nice and helpful. But the centralized customer service representative was impatient, and the move-out policy is a rip-off.
Update 7/25/2018 ===
After reading my review, the manager of this location contacted me, explained the problem with the door, and offered a $50 discount in the next monthly payment. They also promised to take actions to prevent this kind of problems happening again. Although the customer service over the phone was not helpful, the on-site manager has been helpful and friendly.
Original Review ===
Inaccessible during access hours! For at least 4 consecutive days, the building door was unresponsive to access code.
On one Sunday, when trying to access outside office hour (but within access hours), the building door wound't open, leaving me in front of the door with a fully loaded car but unable to move items to my storage room. Customer service wasn't helpful. I had to drive back wasting 40 miles of trip.
I called on Monday and was told that the door was not working and would be repaired on the same day. On Tuesday I went again, and the door was still not working. Again, the customer service didn't help and refuse to compensate anything for its false advertisement and my wasted trips. I had to drive my fully-loaded car back again, wasting another 40 miles of trip.
On Wednesday I took half day off just to arrive during their office hour. I was finally able to put stuff into my storage room, and unsurprisingly, the door was still not fixed.
I don't know since when the door stopped working and when it was fixed, but it had been broken for at least 4 days without any notification or workaround. And no compensation to impacted customers. This is not a reliable place to store your items you need...
Read moreI have been with Public Storage for a long time, to be exact for 6 years. i paid a lot of money. Carrie is the first manager that keep the property clean and looking presentable. With her stills and knowledge she make it looks mire inviting. She is always smiling, very helpful, bubbling personaility. she make a person feel important even if you are there to rent a storage, purchase boxes or just to use the facility. The customer service she provides is rare now days because most employees are over worked and under paid, and feel unappreciated. I hope this isn't Carrie situation. She get 5 stars because she is always shining.
The over all company gets one (1) star. Although Carrie keep the property clean. The maintenance is horrible and horrifying. The building is unsafe I came over early one morning to put things into my storage the back door is broken anyone can walk in and do whatever, the out side back elevator door look as if some tried to kick it in. The back entrance is an accident waiting to happen. I spoke with Carrie about my concerns and she informed me that she had a work order in. I explained to her because I at the storage so early that I concerned about my safety and my property that is in the storage. I have been with Public Storage for over six years and I've seen managers come and go, I've waiting 3 years to get a light bulb changed. Which literal happen this thanks to Carrie. All other managers would make excuses. Please pay close attention to the property maintenance i.e. the back door or I have to remove...
Read moreDO NOT use this location to store your belongings. I have been there for over 5 years, and just recently discovered that a new lock was placed on my locker the day I showed up to store some items. The Property manager was no where to be found, during my turmoil of my key not working with the lock, which immediately,I knew was not mine. She happily shared that I did not have the right keys and told me to call a lock smith! Really? So, I can call a locksmith, no Public Storage worker on sight to verify. Hell yes! So I called a lock smith the next day, left 3 VM to the office, no call back. Luckily Melissa showed up. I explained the situation to her, she went to do a locker audit, and knew right away. We escorted the locksmith to my storage unit, he broke the the lock and when it was opened, 3/4 of my items were gone. THOUSANDS of dollars. These thieves placed their own lock, after breaking mine. If you have a unit here, PLEASE frequent. It's an inside job. Yesterday, when I went in to gety remaining items there were 2 suspicious people rummaging through an enormous amount of items, I questioned them, they pushed me out and they the door. There is no camera security inside, so it is free game. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Obviously the property manager doesn't care. Melissa is awesome and I apologize again for coming in HOT, but she was extremely professional and took care of the situation just as one should. I AM WARNING ANYONE, AND ALL: READ THE MOST...
