Sweet Pea's Wash Works — Local services in Bellevue

I stopped in late this afternoon just to vacuum my car; this was the first time I had been to Sweet Pea’s. No one else was there. I hadn’t even started vacuuming yet and a man came up and asked me if I could spare some money. He looked possibly homeless. I told him no. He continued to talk but I turned on the vacuum; so he walked away. About 5 minutes later (as I was adding more quarters), some woman came up and asked for for $3.00. She said she needed bus fare because she was trying to get to a bar on the Northside. I told her no and that she was the 2nd person within 5 minutes to ask me for money. She then asked, since I didn’t have any money, if I could give her a ride to the bar. Sweet Pea’s — what kind of people are you permitting on your premises? You need to place NO LOITERING signs on your buildings. I was a customer who was quickly trying to vacuum my car. Apparently I was being mistaken as an ATM machine by unemployed people loitering on your property. It was NOT appreciated. In addition, the tip of the hose on the vacuum kept coming off — it wouldn’t attach to the hose. Will I be back to Sweet Pea’s? Uhh …...

My opinion of this place has changed dramatically over the past year. They opened as a top tier facility. Had all the usual cycles you want at a self-service car wash, including a dryer. I love that the machines accept debit.

Then the quality started really declining. The last three times I have been there, I have had to change stations at least once to find a working one. This past time I tried three and couldn't find one that did it all. One had soap and brush, but the presoaks didn't work at all. One had no pressure. Etc Etc. It's this way each time. I know people will break things, machines break down, but when I've already paid my money it sucks to find out you aren't maintaining...

Drive an additional 10 minutes to another car wash. Not sure if it's under different management buy in the last few months it's gone down hill. The auto magic wash is very quick and doesn't rinse all of the soap off. The self service bays lead from the ceiling onto the car the entire time you're trying to rinse the car. Half of the setting in the self service bay did not work. Last, I was putting in another dollar as the timer was just about out. The machine accepted the bill as the timer hit zero and made me insert 3 more for it to restart for an additional 30 seconds to finish rinsing because of the dirty water leaking on the car I mentioned above....
