I will say that I do like Dr Sanchez Gomez, he has always treated me with respect and kindness. However, I'm currently sitting for the past 4-5 days with nerve pain because Dr Lopez was covering for him and her response was to simply tell me to to urgent care. Seriously!!! You have access to my chart and can see what is going on and, you're too lazy to look thru it and see what can be done? Urgent care doesn't give pain medication to patients, they refer you back to your primary. Then she sent a prescription for 2 mg tables of a muscle relaxer to the pharmacy, which if she would have ready my file she would have seen that I was already taking 10 mg of a muscle relaxer and it wasn't working. I've been trying to get a response from Dr Sanchez Gomez's office since Friday, it's now Tuesday and still nothing. Everytime you complain to UW about the time anything takes to get done all you hear is, we're short staffed and very busy" I'm sorry how is that my problem? You not being able to staff your facility isn't my problem, maybe you need to have a hiring frenzy. I don't know, really not my problem to solve. But if you're not going to hire more people to fix the problem, then figure something else out because patients shouldn't have to suffer for...
Read moreI have been dealing with a off and on again sore throat for a week. Last night it accelerated. This morning (Monday), I called UW health @ Dr. Kellenberger's office at 8:30. I was told there were no openings until Wednesday. But they said they would call me back if they could do something earlier. At 9:01 a.m. I received a call asking me if I could be there by 9: 20. I jumped at the opportunity, but said I might be late and they said no problem they understood. I arrived at 9:27, and was in the examining room by 9:40. Dr. Kellenberger came in about 5 or 6 minutes later, gave me a thorough exam, two throat swabs including for strep. As a precaution, he sent a script to the pharmacy for amoxicillin. Strep turned out negative, but he had given me some recommendations for over-the-counter, Flonase l and other treatments for the nose and upper sinuses. Dr. Kellenberger is an excellent doctor and the speedy ability to get in for an exam on such short notice and be treated was wonderful! I am already feeling better. I am blessed to have Dr. Kellenberger as my primary c okay...
Read moreFor an initial appointment to establish new care, I arrived a little early as requested. Then, I waited in the lobby without being called to see the doctor for 30 minutes before I decided this wasn't the place for me. During my wait, everything being said in the receptionist area between staff could be heard throughout the lobby. Most of it was not patient care related at all. I told the receptionist that I wouldn't be waiting any longer. She said the doctor goes and visits his patients that are in the hospital in the morning, which often makes him run behind. Then she said but if you are in the hospital, he would visit you. No thanks, and I left. It seemed like I wouldn't be a priority patient or even one that gets a curtosy call to advise my appointment would be more than 30 minutes behind schedule until I was sick enough to be in the hospital! Jeesh, people. Get it together. All patients deserve their doctor's attention and the common curtosies from the...
