This is by far the WORSE place I have ever ate it . First the chips were DISGUSTING the salsa was water with tomato sauce in it and maybe a piece of cilantro then main course came I literally took a Bite of the chicken that was in my burrito and Immediately spit it in my napkin. I could not even swallow it. I am not sure what or even if it was chicken. I almost feel as though it may have been the foot of the chicken in my burrito. The suppose to be chicken was dark chunks that had stringy fat when I ripped it apart and the small piece in my mouth that was not swallowed! I was hungry so tried really however I couldnât. I ate a few bites of the flour tortilla shell from 1/2 but my plate looked like a pile of puke. Wish I had a picture ! Anyways told the waitress she said oh well I like them I said ok thatâs good but Literally I canât eat this . Refused to take off the order was beyond rude and the lack of professionalism and ultra sensitive attitude spoke volume . So not only was the food the grossest I ever seen or tasted without swallowing has the most unprofessional staff representing their business. Then the she writes a review about how the place is a 10/10 great food and service. I believe google reviews have a conflict of interest guideline âŚLOL! I strongly suggest do not waste your money Caseyâs gas station across the street heat lamp food is a 5 star...
Read moreWhat a wonderful find! My daughter and I were out and about enjoying ourselves and got a sudden craving for Mexican. We stumbled upon Taqueria El Torito and I'm so glad we did! (Must note, when we arrived there were only 2 other tables occupied, but by the time we left, 40 minutes later, the place was hopping! And at an odd eating time, 2:30ish, and I was so glad, because I want them to get ALL the business). Our waitress was so very nice. Chips and salsa came to the table when she greeted us. They were very yummy. I even ordered guacamole, which was ridiculously tasty, and queso for extra dipping. I had enchiladas and my daughter had a quesadilla the size of her plate! Both were fantastic!! The cost was extremely reasonable. The chef called to us, as we were paying at the counter, thanking us, and I couldn't help myself from gushing to him about how wonderful the meal was. He adorably responded, "Good, then we'll see you tomorrow." I love a chef with quick wit. We will without a doubt make this our go-to in Belvidere when we want to fill our Mexican cravings. They even have Mexican gum packs at the counter, as a courtesy, which my daughter happily grabbed one to take home to daddy. And we were so elated with our experience, we bought a few World's Finest Chocolate bars before we departed. Thanks for the wonderful...
Read moreWhat happened to this place!! Some months ago, my husband and I stopped by for the first time for some lunch and it was absolutely delicious. He had a burrito dinner and I had the enchilada. The chicken was shredded and well seasoned and there was delicious rice and refried beans crispy, lettuce, and all the good stuff! But, this time it was the most disgusting food I think Iâve ever eaten. The chips tasted stale and like they were out of a store bought bag that was left open. The salsa was just spicy with none of that rich tomato flavor. Sooo disappointed!! The chicken was dark meat chunks that were apparently cooked on the grill ⌠it wasnât shredded or marinated as it used to be, instead it was tasteless and fatty. The chunks were stuffed into the burrito with hardly any tomatoes, lettuce or rice!! Forget about any cheese or sauce on top the burrito! Waitress was able to cancel my to go order, but I paid for the other food (and Iâm using that term âfoodâ lightly)! I picked out what little lettuce and tomato I could find cause I was hungry but I really could not swallow that...
