Very disappointed in both the product and the owner's lack of response to issues with a new recliner that is already breaking down after 6 months use. The seat cushion has gone way beyond the normal compression expected and is now sitting so crookedly that it's twisting my back and causing pain. The owner's response is to tell me they can replace the cushion. When I asked what good is it to replace the cushion with the same poor quality material, I received a blank look. So it looks like the $3k I spent on this cheaply made piece of furniture is wasted....once they replace the cushion, I'll be right back in the same boat 6 months from now.
The best part is the owner didn't even tell me he's the owner. He passed himself off as an employee and acted like there's nothing he could do....no discussion, couldn't care less that I'm not happy with the product provided, just handed me a torn off piece of paper with the Lazy Boy corporate office phone number scribbled on it! I used to own 3 furniture stores and NEVER would have handled customer service in this fashion. The warranty is certainly one piece of this, but what do you call it when a company sells you a cheaply made piece of furniture for a high price all the while telling you the expected life of the product is 7 years and it starts failing after 6 months?
If you're in the market for furniture, I highly recommend you avoid Lazy Boy. Your money will be better spent elsewhere! I've been a Lazy Boy customer for more than 30 years, but...
Read moreThis is a long term review. We own several La-Z-Boy pieces - chairs and a sofa. While the warranty on the mechanics and reclining hardware are very good, we are disappointed in the performance of the faux leather fabric of the sofa. After less than 5 years the leather began flaking away from the base material leaving visible white areas under the burgundy leather. We expected better long term performance from furniture that is lightly used by just my wife and I. Beware of La-Z-Boy faux leather products. Friends of ours had this same couch and experienced similar issues within 18 months of new. We expected more, and La-Z-Boy tells us the warranty expired after one year. They offered partial store credit on a full price item of equal or more cost - Ha! That’s a joke folks. We expected better, and will now no longer support La-Z-Boy. Update after another year: the fabric is flaking badly and now the recliner mechanism (plastic) has broken. Yes, Lazy Boy has offered a discount on a new retail priced item. This is likely a higher cost then buying at one of their...
Read moreAustin in the Bend Store was a great salesman. He led us to the comfortable chairs we were interested in but didn't push us to any expensive model, but showed us many different prices and types of chairs, even the ones on sale. My brother was suffering from cancer and needed a comfortable chair, but chose one that looked especially good, but when we got it to his home, found it didn't hit his back correctly and the electric controller was a bit difficult as well. Austin helped us , for he arranged a switch, so that when my brother came back the second time, he found a perfect fit for his back. Austin was so patient and kind and my husband and I even bought a new one for ourselves. (We've had one for over 10 years). He arranged to switch the one first bought, with the new one at my brother's home. He also gave us a good deal on everything. ...
