So, this was my 1st time visiting this establishment, the occasion was my son's 23rd birthday lunch and his grandmother likes to eat here. We arrived on a Saturday about 11:30am to avoid a possible busy lunch rush. Upon receiving the Menus I was immediately turned off by the filth of said Menus, not just mine all of the 7 that were placed upon the table had smears of food, salsa and greasy finger prints. Being so early in the morning and not even a little busy a red flag was raised as it was apparent NO one had taken the time nor care to clean the Menus from the previous day..So if the Menus are kept this way it makes me wonder about the things I can't see. When I mentioned it to the waitress the Menus were disgusting and someone should clean them I was presented with a smile . When the food arrived the plates were hot filled with alot of beans and rice and small helping of the Main ingredient disappointment to say the least. I ordered 2 tacos that arrived soaking were from the bath water they apparently keep the meat warm in and as I picked up the said Taco the bottom quickly fell out and the intire contents ended up as slop on the plate as I held proudly my soggy pieces of tortillas. The flavor was very bland and boringly muted into each other for a complete ending to any desire for another bite. In summary this place is a poor excuse for AUTHENTIC Mexican food. It's far from it. It's more of a give the gringos some rice and beans with a no flavor protein on a warm plate and a ton of melted cheese add the music and they'll believe there eating Mexican food. I wouldn't waste your hard earned money on this establishment as it's the same as throwing it out...
Read moreI’ve always considered your restaurant as one of my go to spots..... I’ve lived in bend since I was 5 years old, have loved going to your restaurant growing up! But I just went to your new location and was absolutely shocked when I saw my check!! I ordered a red cactus margarita, and carne Asada quesadilla.... witch came out to be a total of $27.50, so like any person would do... looked at my receipt and saw that A Carne Asada quesadilla which includes a tortilla cheese steak and some tomatoes and guacamole, was $17.50! (Yes the carne Asada quesadilla Is not a menu item) but I’ve never been charged that much for a very simple dish.... Even from your old location! So I went up and asked my waiter if there was some kinda of mistake. His response was nothing..... just a Shrug of the shoulders and it is what it is, I don’t give a s**t response. I really didn’t want to tip after consulting with the group people I was with to confirm I wasn’t being out of line with my concern, and they agreed that a Carne Asada quesadilla.... being a very simple and cost effective dish should never be that much money! I still tipped $2 dollars knowing I shouldn’t have... but I’m a supporter Of small local businesses, cause I have lived here 21 years! So at the end of the day and many years of coming to your restaurant with my family, and friends! I will no longer continue to give you guys my business, and will tell anyone who mentions your restaurant not to go there! I hope that the $17.50 Quesadilla witch should only cost, hmmm about 10-13 dollars was worth losing my business and any one who isn’t from bend or just moved here and ask me for recommendations not...
Read moreWhen I first stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised that they had the decor matching the cuisine. They had plenty of tables and chairs throughout the restaurant so they had a lot of room. With a good mix of bench seating, booths, and tables.
The menu seem to have plenty to choose from, however, when I was looking at the tostadas, one of the options seemed more like a taco salad than it was a tostada, so I was a little confused, but I thought I would try it.
Sure enough, the salad was in a bowl not a flat tortilla shell. So that would make it a taco salad. The choices of meat were varied, however, the ground beef that I had was soaking in oil, and the lettuce appeared to be very wet, which means that the bottom of my taco salad was a lake of oil water mix
I will say that the food was served fairly quick, however, that tells me that all of the food is premade and sitting in the back ready to be put together.
After eating about a quarter of my taco salad, I tipped my plate and saw about what seemed to be a quarter inch of oil/water. I told the waitress and she promptly asked if I would like to get something else. They quickly took care of me so I give them credit for making the situation right. The next go around I decided to go with enchiladas instead, and I had chicken instead of the beef. The food was OK, however, I think that it could use a little bit more seasoning. There was no heat there was very little cumin, and I think they could just spice it up some more.
The prices are on par with pretty much everybody else in the area, however, given the quality of food, I think it would’ve been nicer if they were a little...
